What is your experience level? novice

Your Equipment:
.1) Type and wattage of lights. CFL's
.2) Distance from tops? 4 inches
.3) Reflector type? bare bulb
.4) Is there a consistent fresh air supply? yes
.5) Do you have an exhaust fan and a circulation fan? circulation
.6) What are the bulb wattages, kelvin ratings, and schedule? cool light bulbs, 24 hours

Your medium:
.7) Specific brand and type of soil, (coco, peat based soilless...) and anything you've added to it. Some good potting soil from a nursery.
.8) Size of container. 2 gallon
.9) Did you use peat pucks to root clones or germinate seedlings? just dirt

Your nutrients and water:
10) Source of water? tap What's it's ph before adjusting? 8
11) Method of checking water ph. ph pen
12) Method of adjusting water ph. PH Up/Down
13) Specific brand and N-P-K ratio for each bottle. just, hygrozyme and karma
14) How often are you watering between feedings, and how much per watering? saturate when dry
15) Any additives or tea's? karma, hygrozyme
16) Are your ph levels stable, or do they fluctuate? soil PH is high, but I try do PH the water down to balance it
17) What is your ingoing water's ph? 6
18) Do you foliar feed? no

Your growroom:
19) Indoors
20) What size of closet, room or hut? big enough for a few mommas
21) What are the temps and humidity levels while lights are on? 70's
22) Have you seen signs of insects in the growroom? a spider

Your strain:
23) What strain are you growing? Indica dominate
24) From seeds or clones? Strawberry cough seed
25) Is this an autoflower strain? no

Okay, so my plant here I think has the virus. Tobacco Mosaic Virus? Anyone hear of it? Everything seems okay except that it has the cool lookin leaves. I mean this plant really looks healthy. Only other concern is that its growing straight up, no branching. My others are all bushy, same strain.

What are the nute levels in those additives, I tried and internet search and only got garbage.

I am familiar with the strain, and you look N toxic, but that may be because of CFL lighting, which I am not experienced with. The pictures shows something on the leafs, I know not what, have seen often, it seems to just go away by itself. My cough came out sativa dom.

The liquid karma is like a compost tea with some vitamins in it, and hygrozyme is enzymes that break down dead organic material into available nutrients. The soil most likely is hot, but I don't think that would give the leaves that streaking.

Anyone familiar with the hemp streak virus or tobacco mosaic virus? That's what I think it is and I wanna diagnose it so I can keep it out my grow room. I don't like reduced yields.

Hello Stickeyrickey,

Pic 1 looks more like Nitrogen burn like 'Wonder said. But pic 4 does look like the beginning of TMV. I must admit I'm not sure which.

Let me ask you this, why do you think it's TMV? Most growers don't even think of that. Do you handle tobacco, either cigs or pipe tobacco? It has been found that handling tobacco then other plants can spread the virus but it also needs some sort of wound to the leaves or stalk to enter the plant.

Damn, I keep going back to pic 1 and wonder why it is confined to one side of that leaf. When I get a chance I'll try to find a good pic of TMV on a mj plant.

The reason I think its a virus is because its only on one side of the leaf. That is one of the symptoms of it is the markings on one side. I don't handle live tobacco, but i do use tobacco products... like blunts :stoned: I guess, the soil mix could be burning the plant, but i would expect it to be all the leaves, both side of the leaves. This thing looks healthy except for the pictures shown. All the other leaves are looking great. Only thing is it has been having weird node alternations. Instead of the typical symmetric growth it should be showing, it has 2 nodes on one side then it will go symmetric then one on the other. very odd.

Well Stickeyrickey, you have established a possible link to the virus with your love of blunts. You need not handle live tobacco, any tabacco product you handle, means you could pass it on to your plants. Or if you smoked a blunt in the presence of your girls, that could do it too. Almost all tobacco products have it. In the Carolina's it is estimated that 12-15% of tobbacco harvested has it, and in other parts of the world it is much higher.

Based on your observation of stange node development, that is a symptom of TMV....so you probably got the virus. Since there are no anti-biotics for plants you are going to have to live with what you got right now.

In the future you mght want to consider washing your hands (up to your elbows) with anti-bacterial soap before working with or handleing your plants.

Good luck, hope it isn't too bad.

I think I have it contained to just one plant, I took it out of the growroom when I noticed it. I'll prolly just kill this one or give it to my friend :S2: I honestly think that it was the seed that had it, one of its first true leaves had the markings. Anyway, thanks for the help guys/gals.
