i was in a car accident 2 years ago in which i was hit from the back and my spinal disc had been dislocated. Went to the doctor initially but never seeked any treatment. I suffer from constant daily back pain from just doing day to day things. I started using marijuana about a year ago to ease the pain and found that it had done more than i expected. I have the proper documentation to provide that i had been in a car accident and the trauma that i had sustained from it. Do you think this would be enough to apply for a card? I was hesitant to..:microwave:

My guess is you'll have to establish documentation and history on your condition. Diagnostic tests, MRIs, Scans along with Doctors' interpretations on these tests as well as their observations on your condition and ability to function will help verify your condition. Obviously being on Disability and some sort of pain management protocal for an extended period of time would probably be beneficial to validating your claim. Be aware that some tests to locate and diagnose spinal problems, such as a Discogram can be extremely painful.

I'm not sure what the criteria is going to be in terms of proving that one has chronic pain, but I would start with your GP and get referrals to see specialists in the Orthopedic, Surgical and Pain Management fields, and start building a medical file.

It's quite possible that the above will not be necessary, dependent on the recommendation of some of Doctors at these clinics that are opening up specifically to help applicants obtain MMJ cards. Judging from the comments from DHS there seems to be a commitment to strictly validate claims, and eliminate any type of quackery. We'll know more when April rolls around and they(DHS) starts to accept applications for the cards. I would get to a Doctor right away and have them help with your condition.

Here's some info on the Discogram test for inquiring minds.

We ask that you at least have 3 office visits no older than 2 yrs that describe your debilitating condition. The charts notes work the best

i had my head crushed in an accident at work in 03 and since then i have had my neck fused at c-5 c-6 and have metal in my head and ear as well and suffer from chronic headaches 24/7 and take 5 percocets daily for just the headaches. my vision and hearing was affected as well and still fighting workman's comp daily and they tried to stop my treatment because once in 7 years i flunked a UA for them and found out that the drug protonic's will show up a false positive . even though comp prescribed it , it took almost a month to prove this so i guess my question is after i get my medical marijuana card and supply will they stop my benefits again ?

Suresmoke, It makes a huge difference which state you are in. Let us know. If you are in CA you can probably get a card. Not sure about any other states.
