My first go at indoor trees!!!!

So, I built me a tent outta metro carts and rolled insulation with the mylar exterior$50.00 Got me a 400 MH for $75. Got a bathroom venting fan for $15 and a cheap oscilating fan for inside $3. Had the sunshine farms #4 from my outdoor. And clones, 4 of them for $60. Hindu Skunk, LA Confidential, Black Domina, and a Sour Desial. All about 10 inches tall.

I ran the room for about a week or so just to check temps, day and night. We have been having weird weather patterns latly so I was conserned about temp flucts. Seems to be holding right a 80 deg.

I left my cam on my buddys boat so no pics yet but Ill get some up soon.

I like the idea of building your own system. My veg box used to be a cabinet at some silicon valley company. My lights are 4' flourides and I have salvaged muffin fans on each end. One blowing in one blowing out. I have vegged hundreds of plants in this home made box. My clone box is home made too. Just one 4' flouride in a tiny box with a few holed drilled in it.:D

Welp, 12 hrs into it my hindu skunk is wilting. I would think its either transplant shock or my fan is blowing to hard dirrectly on the plants causing wind burn. Or both. The rest look great this am.

Im running 24/0 for a few days so theyadjust to my light. Is this a good idea?

Also, I have black pots, should I worry about that or cover them?

Nor Ca - popular growing co. It is so popular that the authorities in my area are looking for fields with thousands of plants and they find plenty. I am counting on these folks with the huge fields to keep the authorities distracted. I did not see a single chopper fly my field this year unlike the past two years where they hovered and counted then hauled huge loads right over our heads from a nearby grow. They seem to be focusing this year on illegal grows on fed or state land. They changed CAMP to campaign against illegal marijuana planting and seem to be leaving folks on private lands mostly alone. At least in my county.

For your plants the 24 on should help any recovery. I just rotate my plants away from the muffin fans in my home made box if it looks like it is hurting them. Don't over fertilize it.

Im triing to figure out when the best time for my 6 hr lights out would be as I have my box in the garage. Temps get down to 40 right now but it will get colder at nights.

Right now Ive set it at 6 am till noon as I figure thats the best time for me.

I have light leaks that need to be fixed. Ill have to climb inside and have my wife close the door with my garage lights on so I can see them. She might like that and lock me in there.

Ill wait about a week and then start with a light dose of fish emulsion 5 1 1.

Will that be good?

Im going to try and follow the same thing I did on my out door as far as nutes.

I am basically an outdoor guy. I just use my box for vegging and creating clones. You should check out someone with more indoor experience for advice on the nutes. I just use the clonex solution in the black bottle to water in my box. I use Happy Frog for the soil as it seems to make new plants really happy. I use a variety soils and supplements that I pick out at the store for my outdoor stuff.

Cold weather can wreak havoc on young plants. It will at least stunt them and can kill them. On mature outdoor fall plants cold weather is desirable to bring out the purple in those varieties and does little or no damage.

I left my Mazar plant in the ground until last Sunday. It has gone through several freezing nights at my property and it looked fine. No mold and still green and and fresh looking. I could have left it longer but I am worried that I could get snowed out and not be able to harvest it.

You can keep your light between 14"-18". And adjust from there, 18" being the max distance. :thumbsup: :twocents:

I run my 400MH a little high, 18-20" off the tops, but if I have a girl that runs away I use the "Hand" method for judging just how close I can let her get. If I hold my hand at the level of the plant and it's not uncomfortable then the plant should be just fine too.

The HinduSkunk looks a little heat stressed from the light being too low, but everything looks good now.

As for the reflective,.... the kinda quilted stuff your running now will diffuse the light better so you won't have so many hot spots. I use Panda since it also helps reduce reflected heat.

As for your area and scrogging all 4,..... it could be done but it would be a bit confusing by harvest time telling which bud is from which strain! :wtf:

I visited a dispensary grow today and wandered thru his tables of SCROG'd plants sniffing buds and then trying to figure out which plant they were attached to! 40,000w flowering room, all SCROG,..... just WOW! :eek:

IMO SCROG is a great method for lower wattage HID and for Floro users since the penetration into the canopy is so limited. But I digress,......


If I were you with a 3x4 foot print for your tent, I'd vege the plants in to about 1-1.5 foot tall, then top em. Vege for another week to let the branches come in some.

Then for Scroging, take some garden fence with the 2x3" rectangles, and hang it in there about 3-6" BELOW canopy height (Bend your plants down to make this happen) then kick the lights to 12/12.

Train stretch into any available wire, but try to keep the canopy as thin as possible. (Dont overlap, and try not to inter weave your girls) once your out of space to train the nodes down let them grow up into buds. top runaway's or HST them (Kink the stem under the screen and pull them back down to match the canopy)

As for any undergrowth,... if it wasn't within 4" of the bottom of the screen at the end of stretch, cut it out, it's not going to get enough light to do anything except pull nutes and energy away from the main buds.:pimp:

Great points all the same canni. I thought the same thing as far as being hands on all the time. Its fun and rewarding to be in there all the time. And Im the DIY kinda guy so this works for me.

I have a giant pile of stuff Ive gathered over the years outside my garage and just happend to find what looks like a 1 1/2-2 inch screen I can use to hang from the top. Should work fine:D

I can see already that this is gonna be a long time hobby of mine!!!

So Im germing 6 white widows in 1x1 RW cubes under CFLs 24/0. 2 days and I have 1 coming up already. Hopefully the rest will come up so I can run my new box. Its cool, cause I took a 2 teir work bench and enclosed it with the reflextic insulation I used on the big box. Ill hang a bunch of CFLs in there along with the T12 thats in there already:thumbsup:As soon as its done Ill post pics. I was thinking of hanging the sreen at the height of the 3 gal pots and doing a sog on top of the screen rather then coming up from the bottom. LST the shit out of them.

5 outta 6 seeds popped so I dropped um in soil. One seedling has no leaves, just sprout leaves:wtf: But all have tap roots out the bottom of the RWC's.

I fimmed the bigger girls already and they didnt stress a second. They are doing great.

When can I start using the bone meal or should I at this point?

Ok, a lil update. Ive been fishing alot so I havnt spent much time here.

I did transplant everything. The bigger girls are in 3 ga lpots and loving it. Sorry, no pics. The lights are off.

On the other hand. My WW sprouts are doing great at about 3 weeks under 24/0 CFLs and soil.5 outta 6 popped, pretty good for the first time I think:jointsmile: Here are some pics of these. I have been hitting um light with Fish E every other watering and fimmed um.Lets hope these are female!! Enjoy!!!

Welp, I had to uproot 4 males last night.2 large one started from seeds and 2 clones I took.1 from each. Aslo while inspecting the girls I found what? You guess it, SPIDER MITES:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

So back into the kitchen and whipped up some tea I used on my outdoor with great results. It consits of 4 cloves fresh garlic, 2 table spoons tobasco , 1 thai pepper, one quart water and blend till liquified. Let sit in the dark over night and apply with a spray bottle.

Ill be spraying today and will post up results. Thank god I sprouted some more WW the other day...Wheew!!!

Smush anything you see, I'm not sure about your home brew, but Neem kicks there little asses into oblivion! Only problem is flavor,.... Neem smells like ass,... I can't imagine what it tastes like when smoked!!!!

Pruning the little airbuds and branches that won't yield anything?.... Sure, do away with them, force the fluids to flow to the main colas....

I'm not a fan of the "Lollipop" method that I've been hearing so much about,... that's over pruning IMHO, and only acceptable in a LARGE SOG style grow.

Pruning fan leaves,... NO!! where is the plant gonna make all the goodness that it stores in the flowers that we love to smoke!?!??

Green Fan leaves, even if shading a bud point are feeding the plant,... once they start to turn bright yellow tho,... then feel free to pull them off. ;)

Now im with CANNI on the pruning. dont want to touch anything that has green foliage leave em be.... but once there yellow and about to fall off then as canni said feel free. just remember the plants leaves are turning yellow because there using up stored sugars to help produce along with fatten up the flowers. Hope it helps. Now as far as neem oil and mites id say use it. I dont have neem oil but i do have NEPTUNES FISH AND KELP and yes it smells like ass, but it does help down those mites. as far as end smoke couldnt even really tell. hope it helps and all it well!

I get to reading and get lost as to what Im reading. I coulda swore I see an artical about removing all the fan leaves a couple weeks into flower so the plants uses that energy on the buds. After thinking about it, thats plain stupid. Thanks guys. As far as mites go Im not sure yet but will check them out today again and see if numbers went down ir if they have packed up and went else were, which I hope is the case.

I havnt smoked any of these strains xcept the Sour D,which I grew outside last summer.mmmmI love the taste of that stuff, thats why I chose it again.

I'd be lying if I told you I don't fish for tuna, marlin, wahoo, striped bass, bluefish, red drum, cobia, and the occasional amberjack and mako. I'm mostly saltwater, but have no problem with hookin largemouths, pumpkin seeds and bluegills on a small farm pond neither! Love to fish with a buzz on? :stoned: Me 2!:D There's lots of us who do!

Guess what Im doing today. Ripping my whole fucking operation apart and cleaning for PM. Bleach, lysol and any nuke shit I can find. Sucks cause I was doing so well. I think I caught it early enough. I should have known better then to recycle some parts with out a hot water bleach soak as I did with everything but my air exchange flex tube. KICKING MY SELF.

In your plant problems thread you never specified the humidity. Tho I'm not sure how much bearing on PM humidity has.

Thanks for checking in bro, I have no way of mesuring humidity yet. My air intake is passive I guess as it sucks it through leaks and such, plus I have it sucking warmer air from my table for when the lights areout to keep it warmer. And yes, theres ways for spores to get in there, shit if I can get in there then so can spores. Somewhere else I read aboutthe home brew shit causine problems too. Ill harvesty now if the shit dont stop.

Ok, so hereswhats happening. Im taking the flex and replacing it w new. Gonna seal it up better. Wipe and spray and whip again with lysol. I have some organic spray just made for PM. Ill post that up later...Football is on:wtf:.

I also picked up a ph meter. I hope this shit works guys or Ill flipp.

Well its been about a week and no signs of the shit spreading so maybe just maybe I got it in time. No signs of new growth of the mildew so lets hope.

The buds are getting darker by the day. All my lil ones are ready for the flower room so they need to hurry up, or not. Im not gonna push these like I did on my outdoor.

So far no tell tale signs of males in the WW and my new purple erkle are doing good after transplant and a cloneing mission:D I now have 4. Funny how that works. Ill post up some pics later for you guys.

Heres some of the girls:thumbsup: Ive stopped feeding them the fish and am concentrating on flower food. Maxibloom and molases, with a touch of bone meal. They are getting real sticky and smelly. The buds are getting real hard and densce with crystals all over the fan leaves too. Was thinking about triing the lights at 11/13 and see if I cant get more outta them. More dark time equals more growth, am I right?

Try this man its what fixed my problem, at least this and a few other things. This link will take you to their mite stuff, but they have a fungus spray and i was able to get both in free samples. And i really think it helped me and it being free, you dont have anything to lose. You can use it in bud too, plus i got mine in like 2 days. And to buy it, big bucks so get it while its free. You just need to get to there home page, they would not let me in?

Sorry i didn't see this till now, iv been sick so havent spent much time in any logs:(. But keep pushin on bro:thumbsup:one thing iv picked up is you need to always know something can pop up that is not under your control. The only thing you can do is learn from it so you can prevent it from happening again and remember what you saw to catch it early next time. Control isn't always so easy inside, like you think it should be, funny i think.

Good luck man and jump on the sns, it will help your fungus issues and keep the mites away with no worries of chemicals.:thumbsup:. Try SNS-217 if you cant get there from the link, there are a lot of reviews on it, i didn't read any as i think it helped kill the eggs. Im sooooo proud!!! My Hindu reveg project has worked. We have new growth after weeks of nothing:thumbsup: I actualy had to remove the bud from the top to get her to react, it worked cause now shes growing like mad...Neat sheet:D

Oh, and I removed my hood and just hung my bare bulb in there from the cord and guess what...MORE LIGHT:wtf: Ive been running the room like that for a few days to see what would happend....Yea, more crystals buds getting all sparkly... me likes:thumbsup:

Sorry Stomper, I can not make out much of anything from those pictures in regard to the possible early sexing of those WW's.

Unless you see something soon you might have to flip the switch to get your answer or you could light seal a lower branch with a bag on each plant so it gets 12/12 until they reveal themselves.

Ok, I transplaned my WW#1 and the Purple Erkle#2 into 3 gal today. Added some bone meal and gave them a light dose of my flower power:hippy:

The next round will be in square tubs for room.I also drilled holes in the sides if the bucket thinking that would alow for more aor and better drainage Im going to hang screen along the walls to get the streach to climb(in theory) This time I will let them veg longer:thumbsup:

Scoping the big girls and boy are they getting close. They are 90% milky.

I asked the wife if I could bring them inside for the finish and well that didnt go over too well:wtf:

After weeks of just leaving her to do its thing I pulled the top bud off her and she took of like crazy. Heres a pic of her. She only has 1 leaf per branch and dosent even look like MJ...weird sheet. Thats pic 1-2. And the rest of the reveg clan.:thumbsup:

I pulled a couple branches off my big girls to dry just to try it out:D Anouther week or so and they will be ready to smoke. Ill update yea on that:stoned:

Nice looking re vegged plants bro:thumbsup:if you let them grow with one more re pot, then put them outside, they will get huge. You saw what mine did and after getting ripped, i still had a great yield. I gotta go back and see what your plans are with em, but id give the outside a shot bro. That nice sun shine will give you a giant bunch of buds that could last you all year if ya wanted.

Just a thought bro as i saw what a re veg does outside and you saw the pic's. But you really cant understand what they do till ya get up close and personal with them. You could take a few clones before they start to bud too, so you can keep the strains.

Next up will be my LA Con. Very thick and dense buds on her, The sour D is just about done also. Ive taken both out from under the lights and put um in complete darkness for a few days;)See what happends.

I yeiled 1.5 ounces off each of the plants so far. Is that good? Not realy but remeber its my first indoor:stoned:

I filled the room up this run. Can you say SOG......Very nice canopy. Lil over crowded but thinning um out with a few males from seed and ones I cloned from seeds. So far about 5 were males. All WWs. But I did get about half females from seed so far so not bad for bagseed huh guys? Didnt realy change anything but the lighting. Which looks to be a great thing so far.. YEAAA for HPS. It realy makes a diff....

From what Ive read I should be good. Anywho, all else is good with nice flowers 1/2 way through. Id like to look into starting hydro on a small scale just to get my feet wet per say, but we will see. Im thinking with my setup in soil is what is causing problems but not sure. Maybe its cause I have it in the garage:stoned:

The white widow is some crazy looking sheet. The hairs are hella long and very white. Ill post up some close ups of that later. The purple erkle is so bushy its not getting light inside but still budding. Might do a staged harvest on that too

Looking forward to seeing what your WW looks like,.... mine is pretty F'n weird compared to any other plant I've done, the flowers are super small and dense,..... I'm gonna do more of those seeds to see if I can find a different Phenotype that works a bit better. Smoke is really nice even tho it's crazy nute sensitive.

She got harvested last night..... once I trimmed away all the burnt leaves the buds look just fine,.... sticky and resin coated :S5:

Yield could have been better, but I'm not bitching about what I pulled, it'll be enough of that strain to keep my patients happy until the next harvest.

ah sounds like some good smoke man im stuck with this good bag seed i saved over the winter i plan on getting some better seeds when i have improved my growing skills haha.

have you been giving them anything thats high in nitrogen? From some of your pics your have some nasty leaf curl thats caused by a nitrogen toxicity, and it hurt your yield and quality.

Find out what you gave them, and maybe think about cutting it out completely during flower.

For 2 grows i kept on using my Cal mag+ during flowering and would always get nasty leaf curl that would kill my beautiful buds. When i cut out the cal mag i finally got the density i was looking for.

Yep! Each strain will want something slightly different, Using the Techniflora Recipe I've found that many of my strains do just fine,... however, it's TOO much N in flower for the Vanniluna, and just too much everything for the WW at any stage! :(
