I buy medicinal cookies from a dispensary, and eat one-half of a cookie every evening, which helps me sleep soundly.

My routine blood test is coming up next month at my endocrinologist's. The main purpose of the test is to measure my A1C level and other data related to diabetes.

Here's my question: Will the blood test show any traces of cannabis in my system?

TIA

A "routine" blood test? No. But what is the back story here...do you work for the Federal gov't or some other organization that might be checking for cannabis? If so, maybe.

I recently had a complete routine blood work-up done as part of my heart disease treatment at a military/VA hospital. They gave me a printed copy of the results for my records, and it shows nothing like a test for cannabis (or other illegal drugs). That said, the doctor did ask me, point-blank..."Do you take any illegal drugs?" I am convinced he was asking the question to determine my risk factors, because the question was one of several "Do you..." questions (smoke, drink, exercise regularly, etc.).

Still, if you are nervous about it, here is an interesting link that claims that cannabis can be detected in blood test for 2-3 days after infrequent use. Daily smokers are at risk for up to 2 weeks. (Source (http://www.erowid.org/plants/cannabis/cannabis_testing.shtml))
