Well, To Start Hi!, Im Kriss......well...my friend gave me a few AK47 seeds, and as i have no knowledge of growing, or anything, i asked him for abit of help, and i got my closet done....im currently running the lights on an 18 - 6 period, and im watering with general rainwater (my friend has used this method to rather a good finish) and this is my first plant, it was planted on the 28 - 10 - 2010, i have very basic knowledge about growing anything, as i have never done anything like this before, the plant seems healthy, and it looks pretty neet to!

Here are some pictures

this is after about 2 days in the pots

Now i know this is cheap as hell, but this is more me trying to get the hang of things, and seeing if i can achually do it first before i start to seriously grow, ill keep you updated, and any tips and tricks for the "cheap" would be greatly appreiated.

Thanks Kriss

Good Luck to you krissyg  There's a lot of good people on this site to help you if you run into any problems. Do some searches, like watering, soil ph, lighting etc. There's a whole plethora of growin' info here to help you out also.
I started my first grow on the cheap too and learned a lot. Each grow after that got better and better.

that is a lot of stretch. What kind of lights are you using, you could probably stand to lower them a little bit.

other than that, welcome.
I have found that cannabis growing is more rewarding than growing any thing else (but you should try other plants like tomatoes, it's also fun)

+1 to both parts,... Lower you lights,.... and also try some other plants, I love peppers, bit more challenging than tomatoes, and frankly I love spicy food!

Good luck and welcome aboard!

Well, after much thought, i bought a 400W grow light, and it has worked WONDERS with the plant, as you can see with the fans, im having alot of trouble venting the hot air from the light, so if you have any ideas? would be greatly appreciated, anyway, picture time!!!

Still amateur but not the cheapest anymore :)

-Big pot
-LST
-No foils. Correct materials or white paint.
-Exhaust
-If you don't want vegetables, strawberry or melon can be a good idea :)

LOL! Tevfic...good observation! Welcome Krissyg! Tev's right...you may be a rookie, but now you'll need to make that light pay for itself! Ak is my fav...I'm in the middle of harvest now, but thought I would take a break and encourage you. Fans, fans, fans are what ya need now...be careful...weed may not be addictive, but growing it is! ;) Get a ph meter and start using it now and have fun! And read, read, read! Just about everything you could possibly want to know is here somewhere! You might want to consider topping , FIM, or LST to get the most from your plant and light. Looks good so far!

I like 400 watt for great results. Good equipment, knowledgeable friends and this website will be the ticket to your success.

Most important, what D.P. said!
A slightly bigger pot now, and then again just before you switch to 12/12.

Looks like you have enough cord to move the ballast outside the box.

They generate heat so outside and up high for the ballast is best.

If it's still too hot, make a "cooltube" for the light and use an exhaust fan.
Your present fans just keep the hot air moving.
You want it out of there, and that will serve to suck in cooler fresh air.

When you re-pot, you will be watering less often, and it looks like she'll get very tall when you switch to flower.
They can double in height then, so plan ahead.

Lookin' good.

Weezard

Well, thankyou all for your help, since these pictures, alot of the leaves have died and gone....the main stem of the plant is healthy and the bud's are healthy, just the leaves (i dont know why, my guess is the heat, maybe?

a friend came today, and trimmed the dead leaves, and said apparently, if he cuts them at an angle, it wont effect the plant, and will make it healthier (grow extra leaves? i think he said).

if you have anymore tips for me, please, tell me, as im such a noob these will help lol!

Thanks

Kriss

What are your temps running? I dont think you mentioned an exhaust.

Also, I would tell you to get that plant into a bigger pot but unlike what weezard
said I would make it permanent and not transplant before 12/12. I never saw the point in risking another transplant. Yeah, I'd go right into a 5 gallon bucket/bag...soon.

Another thing I'd do is when I transplanted into the 5 gallon is bury the main stem a few inches. I'd go right up to the lowest leafs. Doing that will get rid of some of that stretch and make your plant a bit more sturdy for the upcoming heavy nuggets I know you'll grow!:greenthumb:

Oh and when you transplant bring the dirt to the top. Dont be shy with the soil, use your whole container!!

Have you done anything after our help besides letting your friend to cut leaves?
Already told what you need at the moment.
Plant need food and roots need space. If you don't give, plant will die after the leaves.
Don't touch the leaves. It will take time but new leaves will grow soon if you do what to do and don't let your friend in there.
