In just 24 hours we'll know, since the polls close at 9 tomorrow night (IIRC), and I expect the talking heads to pronounce the outcome within minutes.

I'm going to need a celebratory hit if it passes. Wonder how long it'll take me to find one... :rastasmoke:

You know what's strange is that I haven't heard anything about the early votes. I guess they don't release that here.

What I do know is that 19 is the biggest thing on the ballot, as far as attention goes, and there were crazy amounts of early votes. My guess is that the NO voters aren't in that big of a hurry.

If I understand the process correctly, as soon as the polls open tomorrow the elections offices that receive the mail-in ballots begin opening and scanning the ballots. Then, as soon as the polls close at 9pm, the stations reporting their results, and the election commission begins releasing the data as they come in.

I imagine there will be lots of "exit polls" taken, as well, but I don't trust their results. (An exit poll is a reporter standing outside polling stations asking voters who they voted for and how they voted on propositions.) I don't trust them because they ignore the huge numbers of early voters and mail-in voters. Surveys I've seen say that Democrats have a 4% lead in main-in votes, which heavily favors Prop 19. The exit polls will be biased towards GOP voters (a polite way of saying senior citizens... ;)) and could skew the results of actual voting.

I'll be waiting to hear the actual numbers.

I see that the polls close at 8pm (Source (http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/elections_faq.htm)). A link at the bottom of that page shows that mail-in ballots are often over 50% of ballots cast in elections here...a good reason not to trust exit polls.

Thats why you should grow your own.....

1)You dont rely on others to support your habit
2) You control whats in your weed (chemicals or not.... your choice)
3) You never have to buy weed from anyone ever again

Isnt that part of the reasoning given to legalize ..Cut the cartel out of the market....must not have that much of a presence if you cant find any weed without a card:hippy:

Could you REALLY be THAT ignorant? Even according to the feds- the drug cartels receive no less than 60 percent of their income through the production and distribution of cannabis into the US.
