Ok, I'm a total noob to all this growing crap and I've watched tons of videos on how to grow cannabis outdoors. People have so many different opinions of what's good and what's bad so I'm at a loss here. I bought MG organic Bone meal yesterday and I planted my seeds in the cups but they are not growing. Lowes and Walmart have pretty much the same god dam soil (Miracle Gro) and some other cheap crap so I went with the MG. I didn't buy the original potting soil because people keep talking shit about MG soil on how it's bad for your plants like peat moss (which is very acidic and can predetermine your plants to be males) which nobody wants.

Tomorrow, I'm going back out into the woods and I'm a go check out the first seeds that some what sprouted ( 2 tear drop looking things).

My question is: Where in the hell can I buy good soil and what brand. It seems all the popular stores all have Miracle Gro.

Please help!

1st thing bone meal is not soil, its a nutrient you use for flowering.or mixing it in with blood meal into your soil for nutrients.! mg organic potting mix is good,if you are growing outdoors just use the soil that is there, and you should have grown them inside for a few weeks.better chance for survival...

Head to your local Hydro Store and pick up some Happy Frog Organic soil, then mix your bone meal in, buy some kelp, mix that in, pre-crack your seeds or use a Grow cube, with a mini Greenhouse and a 250w light, transfer the baby as soon as it shows roots. Or even try and put the seed in the cube and put that directly in the ground with 1/2inch of top soil. Idk about planting now as its about to be winter. I grow indoors personally but I think primo time to start again is March? for outdoors? least here in SoCal...
Hope it helps ^^
One love...

Happy Frog soil should be pretty good, but I'd avoid the bone meal altogether. You need enough bacteria to break it down to an absorbable level and I doubt if Happy Frog has the bacteria for that. Bone meal is really to be used outdoors, where there is plenty of bacteria. Instead, you can use Frog with a cheap liquid fert like the Shultz brand, 10-15-10, you can get at Lowe's. If you look at the numbers on Miracle Grow you'll see that they are higher than alot of the ferts you can buy. This is why people slam it, it's hot stuff to use. You gotta be real careful how much you give and how often. All you really need is some good soil you can trust and a decent liquid fert that won't do damage. Dyna Gro 7-9-5 is good, just a quarter to half teaspoon in a gallon of water for a soil grow and that's all you need. Just be careful how often you feed. Not too much or you'll overdo it. Foxfarm makes powder ferts that are great for a newbie too. Fruit and Flower works great. You just put about 1/2 cup or so of powder per gallon of potting soil, mix it in good, and then just water when the soil is dry. You shouldn't have to add anything else. There are easy ways to do it, without spending much. Just make sure you put you plants in a 5 gallon bucket at some point because the roots will eventually outgrow small pots. And don't fall for all the additives in a grow shop. Most of that stuff will kill plants, especially if you don't know what you're doing.

I put my seedlings in Miracle Gro seedling soil and my roots are growing quicker! then what I've expected. I plan on growing my plants out in the woods and getting a shovel and dig a pretty good hole and put Miracle Gro Organic Potting Mix which I can to use past the seedling stage. It's pretty cold outside but here in Texas... Our weather is fucked up as it is.. it can be cold 1 week and be hot ass HELL the next week. As long as the temperatures don't go near FREEZING I think my plants will survive enough with plently of water from what I've heard on other forums.

Since I posted this I have gotten Much better at Soil growing than I had previously. I found that 50/50 mix of Happy frogs "Jump Start" and Ocean forrest has a little Micro Beasties In it. With a little Molasses water it has just enough to break down Bone meal. But if your looking to make your first soil blend get The happy Frogs+Ocean Forrest, mix in Dolomite Lime, Rock Phosphate, Greensand and 25% Perlite (the b b sized ones). Fish Bone meal can be used in Veg because it does offer Minor N and some P. No matter what people say P is still used by the plant for Root development and immunity during the early stages and thus should still not be overlooked. I personally like to go High-low-Med for my ratio and try to blend my soil based off that first. The rest in flowering comes from Teas based off Little N for weeks 1-2,while weeks 3-8 P,K, and Micro Nutes are heavier. With soil its hard to target Sulfur but it is essential so make sure to offer it in mix or as a spray @ 2.5ml per 40oz's foliage spray. Then rinse the leaves every 10 days with clean none chlorinated water. and flush 3 days to rid any kinda Synthetic taste you acquired from the spray.
