So im a new grower, and ive made multiple mistakes throughout this experience, and they just seem to be piling up. Most recently, I have been giving them what they seem to think is straight acid water.
Digital PH tester, Im using soil, and was shooting for 6.0. However, the digi wasnt calibrated correctly and was off by .5. So Im assuming around 5.5.
I didnt look into this information until the problems showed signs, and before knowing to retest after adding nutes, i added nutes,., that i now know lowered them another .5 roughly. 5.0 water for who knows how long. Using FF soil in 5 gallon pots.
They vegged for 8 weeks, and are now almost 4 weeks into the flowering cycle. The problem was yellowing, browning, drying and falling off leaves. Assuming nutrient lockout. They looked HAGGARRRDDDDDDDDD.
I have three different strains, all unknown, plenty of ventilation.
I had them under a single 1000w lamp with a great white reflector and a 6''vortec fan keeping it cool. the area is 8x5.
I will always sware by great white reflectors as I was learning to build my room, i was not aware of the dry wall and it came crashing down 6 feet onto a plant that snapped in half and hit the floor hard. Only thing that happened was the bulb went out, but came back on, and was fully protected by the GW. <3
anyway, I have three plants left and im not sure they are going to make it. One thing after another, OH YEAH.
So when i first got them, i put them on a timer for 18/6. Made a mistake on the timer and they started getting 12/12 for about three - four days before i realized it. i got them when they were about a month and a half old. They started to flower, and then i quickly cut it back to 24 hours constant light to try to save them. It got them to the flowering stage and they were really producing nicely until the ph problem.
Ugh Being a newbie is hard sometimes.
ANYWAYS! Im still on the problem of trying to get them to stop dropping there beautiful sugar factories. I gave them two waterings after realizing this at 6.8-7.0 ph. I have clearx on hand but dont unde tyrstand how it should be applied. The directions say allow 80-90% run off. Does this mean I have to flush the plant while using clearx? Ive read that 3x5 would be a good flush amount.
Please just let me know what you think, im trying hard but keep getting blind sided.
