I found this "convertible" 1000watt system online for only $30. My question is, can this be independently ran or is this an attachment for a ballast you already have?
Could I get this for 30 dollars, get a 1000watt eye hortilux for 30 dollars, then get a reflector and have a full 1000watt system for under $100?? It seems to good to be true. Someone tell me if this is a real ballast

switchable ballasts such as that one, have a more likely chance of blowing. just because of the distribution of power. try to find an independent ballast, just to be safe!

just another question.. what would happen if I added a florescant to the side of a HPS during flowering?

it wouldnt do anything, the hps spectrum is far too bright for a flourescent to even matter. put that flourescent on some clones! all its basically good for!

I ran 2 hps and a halide in the middle all 250w and had 4 six foot flouresants down the side and had a better budding from bottom to middle.
They have to be nearly be touching the plants to make a real difference.
