So basically this is my 2nd grow and I want to try and get better results this time around. Now I believe I stressed one of my first plants to hermie when re potting but it wasn't great lol.
This time I was hoping to either top or LST my plants. Which do you think would be the least likely to hermie my plant?

i actually fimmed them and Lst'd them. my Lst tech. is simple. i take a rock and wrap it with a piece of bailing wire. i make a rock xmas tree ornament basically, with a good length of wire left attached to it. i put the rock on the soil snake the wire up to where the branch is i want to manipulate, bend the wire over the branch. let it set for a day or two and remove and you can reuse on another branch. you can decorate them too

neither one should stress your plant as both should be done/stopped 7-10 days before putting into flower. i've transplanted in flower plenty of times and never stressed a plant to hermie. more than likely you had a light leak or so-so genetics.
you can use both methods. LST first and then once the smaller shoots start to catch up top them all. make sure that you water at least an hour before LSTing, preferably the day before. LST is also much easier to do on a younger, softer plant.

ohh so you can only LST during the Veg phase? my plants are only a week old, i will be transplanting them into their 1 gal veg pot in another week, should I start LST after i repot? Probably 2 or 3 days after incase of shock? I was only hoping to veg for 4 weeks, 6 at the max. Does a shorter veg period matter at all?
thanks for the help

well you could LST during flower, but it's not recommended as it could stress them and lead to hermaphrodites. you can't transplant based on number of days, but by when the plant needs it. you don't want to put the plant into a container too big, too early. you'll get massive root growth and not much uptop.
shorter veg = smaller plants = less yield. but it also depends on the method you are going for, your lighting etc. what type of lighting are you using?

WELL I BEG TO DIFFER ABOUT TOPPING IN VEGG. OR BUDD BECAUSE AS LONG AS YOUR PLANTS ARE HEALTHY THEY WILL DO FINE IN EATHER, I HAVE NOTICED THAT IF YOU WAIT ABOUT 2 WEEKS IN TO BUDD AND YOU TOP THEM YOU CAN USE THE TOPS AS STARTS, I ALWATS TRIM ANOUT 4-6 INCES OF FOILEDGE OFF THE BOTTOM. AND TOP IT TWO WEEKS IN TO MY 12-12, THE TOPS MAKE GREAT STARTS AND THEY ROOT FASTER WHEN THEY HAVE BEEN IN BUDD FOR A COUPLE WEEKS, NO IM NOT TO SHURE ABOUT THIS LST METHOD I HAVE TIED A BIG LIMON HAZE DOWN AND IT GREW FINE BUT, I ALSO KNOW THE SHORTER THE TIME YOU VEGG AND BUD THE LESS THE PLANT IS SUSEPTABLE TO BUGS MOLD AND DEFECTS. SO ALWAYS GROWE THEM ABOUT 16-24INCHES IN GROW DEPENDS ON IF ITS A INDA, OR SATIV, THE INDA SEEM TO SHOOT UP ONCE IN 12-12. SO I ALWAYS PUT THOSE IN AT AROUND 16INCHES THE LAST G13 I LET GET 24 INCHES IN GROW, :pimp:WHEN IT WAS DONE IT WAS ALMOST 6 FEET TALL IN 5 GAL BUCKET. BUT I HOPE YOU HAVE AWSOME GROWS GOOD LUCK AND GOOD SMOKEN!!!!!!!!!

The number of days was just an assumption. Right now they're in jiffy pots then to 1 gallon pot to veg the 3 gallon pot to flower.
For veg I'm using flouros on a 24h cycle (my veg room has lots of light leaks) then I have a 400w hps in a tent for flowering.
What is the typical veg time? I thought 4-6 weeks was common.

depends on your style of growing. are you going more SOG or growing monster bushes? there is no typical time for veg. keep in mind however that if you are growing from seedlings you want to wait until your plant is sexually mature before flowering. you can tell she is ready when the nodes start to alternate, not grow directly across from each other.

Ahh I c good info! I'm just growing 3 at a time. All from feminized seed, one started a week late.
The 2 that are about 10 days old and equal in length to the amount of dirt in the jiffy pot, should I repot soon? There's 6 leafs on each if u include the starting 2 that die later.
Thanks for the help I'm excited for the grow!! :)
