First I ever heard this song, I was coming back from Koza City after scoring some weed. A B-52 took off over the cab on the way back, the road was that close to the runway!! Think you've heard roar before!!! To the Fab 4 and Ringo the energizer bunny.

I'm not in my sixties yet, but I really like White Bird, and they have another song I like alot too, but can't remember the name right now. On that same record, though. The sixties yielded some of the best music.

Well, with the English language, 60s set could also means those who were active are also in the 60s set now if you catch my drift. :D And, there was a bit of a 60s - 70s music span that is actually relative to the 60s set. :S2:

So we won't make it a literal translation. :rasta:

Sorry if this is against some kind of forum rule but, I'm new to this site and actually have no idea how to post a new topic lol. Today I noticed some brown stuff taking over the middle part of my stem it's kind of wet to touch but if i scrape it, it comes off with ease, can anyone inform me of what this may be and if there's a way to stop it from spreading to the whole plant? it's only happened within the last 3 days or so... i'm totally clueless and it's my dads plant which it is happening to but he's too lazy to search forums for answers so I'm doing it for him.

Thanks.

OK I am a youngster (59) so I hope you 60's don't mind. I saw Its A Beautiful Day at the Fun House at Lake Tahoe in 1970. Also The Guess Who, Chuck Berry, The Carpenters and other shows before the July 4 riot that year that shut it down. The local police started a riot on the beach which spilled over to the Fun House. Then the fun was all over and they closed it forever.

Ha ha, guess I had this thread all wrong. I saw 60s and thought 1960s, not 60 years old. Der . . .

I'm only 52. I grew up listening to 60s/70s music and IMHO that music is still the best of all time.

I hope no one minds a snot nosed rookie like me posting in this thread. If so, let me know and I'll come back in eight years. :D

Pretty far from a rookie I would say. Yeah the kids now adays still love Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, The Who and a bunch of bands that broke up before they were even born. Even Ozzie and Black Sabbath are popular. I saw someone give Iron Man as a joke gift to someone. I had to keep from saying anything in a stuffy office but I like that album.

I wear my Dark Side T-shirt and when someone comments I tell them that I saw Floyd on the tour for Dark Side at the Cow Palace. They are totally jealous.

LMFAO!!!

Ya, I'm waaaay younger than most of ya'll but this one struck a chord, so to speak.

I've always loved this song and back in High School drove a friend crazy with it, he's still a good buddy of mine and a year or so ago he happened upon a nasty car wreck that just took place. He found a dude laying beside his car with no pulse and started CPR after calling for a ambulance. He told me later that the whole time he couldnt get that damn song or me outta his mind cause he hard that Stayin' Alive was one of the best song to do CPR to cause of the beats per/min.

The guy ended up makin it, my bud was dubbed a minor hero and he said it was all because of that stupid song :D

Turns out that the another song with the right BPM that everyone seems to know is Another One Bites the Dust LOL

Notice how the middle guitarist looks like Q from the Next Generation and the one on the far right looks like he's barely restraining himself from going Marty McFly. :D

Second from the right looks like Bill Murray. :D I have to wait until I switch my monitor over to the TV to watch and listen. It where my speakers are! :stoned: And, its great for streaming all kinds of other things without an Xbox!!

Surprising that theres yet to be any mentioning of Otis Redding, perhaps one of the greatest soul/R&B artists to emerge in the 1960's. Well here it goes:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Heres Otis backed by Booker T. and the MGs (featuring a young Steve Cropper and Duck Dunn on guitar and bass, respectively) doing Try A Little Tenderness: YouTube - Otis Redding Stax Tour - Europe 1967 - Try A Little Tenderness (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8B6b7QCILV4&nofeather=True)

While Otis recorded and released a different version in 1965, here in this TV performance, Otis and the Bar-Kays paid homage to Aretha Franklin with this version of Respect. Sadly, this would turn out to be Otis' final TV appearance. The day after this TV taping, Otis' plane had crashed into the icy waters of Lake Monona near Madison, Wisconsin. Otis, his valet, the pilot, and four members of the Bar-Kays died at the bottom of that frozen lake.
YouTube - Otis Redding - Respect (Live, 1967) [Very Good(-) quality / No mpg4 resolution] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LqkEi7BpoQ&nofeather=True)

In January 1968, one month after Otis' death, Stax/Volt Records released (Sittin On) The Dock Of The Bay, in which Otis had recorded nearly a week before the crash and had considered it to be an unfinished recording. Within weeks, the record shot to #1, making it the first posthumous number-1 record in rock history..

His band was so tight that during a song, when some rent-a-cops started hassling some stoners, he stopped the band (on a dime) and told the cops to quit hassling those people. The band then picked up the song on the exact beat like you had raised a stylus on a record and then put it right back down. Good stuff man.

Saw many good concerts at McNichols and also Red Rocks.

Two concerts I saw at Red Rocks that stick in my mind are Renaissance backed up by Jean Luc Ponty. Perfect bands for a concert under the stars. :stoned:

The other was America with Poco backing them up. Poco stole the show and had everyone dancing. It was an electric sort of thing I can't really explain. America actually got booed (even though they played fine) and the chant went up for Poco. America probably never wanted Poco backing them up again. :D

Then would go to the PX tape shack to copy albums for 25 cents each. No copyrights there....No Harm No Foul...

As long as we're talking about 1971, you have to include these three songs:

Ringo Starr's hit showed he was more than just the 4th Beatle.

jZfAik7wP8U

While I'm not a necessarily a fan of Chicago, this song was played at every dance I ever went to I think. It was a great song to slow dance to and get much closer to the babes. Sort of became the standard for adolescent bump and grind . . . :D

ZTMc8KMqcqc

And finally one of the greatest Funk songs of all time. Isaac Hayes, long before he parodied himself as the Chef on South Park.
