View Full Version : Free Meds???

I've been hearing a lot about "care givers" offering a free oz each month but have never actually came across anyone who seems reputable. Does anyone have experience with any of these deals and are they legit?

It seems to me that offering a large amount of free meds is very risky. I could see law enforcement interpreting the offer as a request for patients to conspire with care givers so that they can manufacture under cover of the MMMA and sell the product illegally, with the free oz being the patient's cut of the action.

Of course I am not suggesting that this is what people are doing, just that it sure does sound like it.

Anyway, has anyone come across a CG that is legitimately offering this? I wonder if the cops could even advertise this and bust people for agreeing to do it.

As a legitimate CG, I know I will have to work with the realities of the free market and that is fine. But I'm just afraid such a brazen offer could land both CG and patient in a lot of trouble. But then maybe I am being paranoid.

Any input?

Aren't you a caregiver or part of a dispensary?

This thread rings of trying to figure out how to remain competitive without giving away free bud :P

I don't mean that as harsh as it sounds.. I just couldn't help but notice your other thread regarding "RxBuds"

I could see how it would be convenient for a business starting out to amass a few clients and establish a reputable business while giving away a certain amount of produce to each.. Realistically, at least here in Oregon the amount of plants per client will grow far more than an ounce when grown and processed well.. So, It's not like these companies are hurting.. especially if they do do black market dealings.. or heck, sell the excess to other dispensaries :)

Once a user-base is established through simple sugar coated business practices, and word of mouth spreads their business to be a reputable one.. they can ease up on the sweets and enjoy many paying clients.

That is a heck of a lot of free pot though..

You know, that is probably the best point I have heard on the subject. I guess, one could legitimately use free give aways to build a customer base.

I just wouldn't want to make it sound as if I was paying people to let me use their patient status as a front for black market sales. After all, if there isn't some form of compensation from your patient, the natural assumption is that the compensation is coming from illegal sales.

I wouldn't want cops making that assumption about me. but the way you explain it, it does make sense. Now, I'm still looking for someone who actually has received this fee medication.

I just get this image of some slacker growing bag seed in Miracle Grow potting soil with some Home Depot shop lights while stringing along their patients for months.

I know I have invested a lot of money in equipment.

Aloha RxBuds,

"I wouldn't want cops making that assumption about me. but the way you explain it, it does make sense. Now, I'm still looking for someone who actually has received this fee medication."

Good point.
And now, you have met at least one.

When I had way too much weed for my legal limit, (3oz per patient), I went looking for folks who needed medical but could not grow their own.

It is not legal to sell meds here. And there are no dispensaries.
So, I had no trouble finding folks in need.:)

And I gifted them some weed.

Then, Karma, shmarma, I lost my crop!
A series of misfortunes wiped me out.:(

Had a li'l stash put aside, but now I knew folks who did not.

When I got down to my last few buds, I started to worry.
The folks I carry, had no way to carry me.
And now, they were stuck too.

Made a good friend on-line, who had a "full-toothed" harvest this season.
He got wind of my plight and actually pushed me to let him help.
He insisted on sending me a large stash of da bes'.
This was not easy for me to accept.

I've always been self-sufficient.
Being on the receiving end of dat kine kindness has caused mixed emotions.
Depressing and uplifting at the same time.

What'smore, when I dig myself out of this hole, da payback may turn out to be "coals to Newcastle".

Might have to Karma this one out, ah dunno.:)

All I'm sayin' is, jus' know, that kindness happens alla time.:)
