Sorry everyone for not being around. Things have been insanely stressfull and along with the stress my health goes south. My husband and I got some good news so hopefully things will be looking up soon.

I have 4 seeds right now that i am waitng to pop out of the shells. Once that happens i will post some pics to start the new grow journal. As of right now they are in those little soil pellets and once the roots look strong enough they will go right into hydro. We bought an awesome water purifier so they will have so good water. They hyrdorton has been cleaned twice so hopefully that will help as well. We are doing things the same way as the first grow since that seemed to work. So they will start out in a 5-6 galllon bubble bin (the same one from my first grow) and then once they are bigger we will transfer them to the 5 gal buckets. I am hoping that things will start working better here soon.

I know this is a huge election for us but we all need to stop fighting and come together. If we are all fighting about what someone said or didnt say then we will never get anywhere. I would do everything i can to make a difference but all i can do right now is add support. I can't be seen on tv due to personal reasons i am very paranoid so it is hard for me to want to openly met some of you. Im sorry that i am that way but with certain things in my life i am unable.
We all know the prices are high, we all know that there isnt enough medication, its not right for us to have to pick the extra costs for the producers, but what do you think out taxes go to. They take taxes out of your pay check every time. Do you honestly believe that our tax dollars are being used for what they say they are used for? I sure as hell dont, but there is not much we can do about that. So yes it sucks the prices are high but i completely understand. I am not going to ue sit here and fight and argue about how things are so high because guess what I know they are and all it does to fight is cause anger, distrust, and fighting. Thats not what this program is for. Have we all lost compassion? We should be here for each other. Not showing off how much better we are then the other guy. Everyone even the producers are learning as we go. None of us woke up one morning a perfect grower. It all took trial and error. You all ridicule SWOP for not having the perfect grow and i am upset about that. They started out not knowing a whole lot and have done everything they can to ensure quality IMO. Swop has shown me the most compassion hell they are they only ones who ever respond to me when i have a question. They took on a job that alot of people wouldnt want to do. Sure growing pot is fun and for some it comes easy but i dont see you out there growing 95 plants to help over 2000 patients. Thats like trying to feed 2000 people with only enough food for 95. So instead of fighting and saying that this person doesnt know what they are doing or blah blah send that person an email in private and say hey i think things would work better if you do it this way or try this. The only way the program will grow and be successful is if we come together stop the fighting and help.
I hate seeing people fight. Who cares if one guy can produce pot for $300 or whatever it was, if you want to do shit like that then ask questions dont criticize because you cant do the same. Thats all i have. I just want to open this site and see laughter and helping instead of arguing and fighting.

P.S. I dont work for swop or anything i am just a satisfied customer, the care and understanding that i get from them is more then i get from most of my family. If you dont like anything that i have said then cool its your opinion but dont start a fight here on my thread start it else where.

Well put. True and honest, unbiased opinion. Hard to find in this community. What the community could really benefit from is more maturity and less brute force, Like you mentioned.

If your gonna stick you hand out, use it to help a fellow human, but if your using it to slap someone...your just fighting, not fighting for the cause.

Thank you xsnoder, all i want to do is stop the fighting. We can still have our disagreements but we dont need to be bringing each other down. Most of us have many issues going on at home, and i know i come here to escape and talk to people that understand. Please everyone can we all just be nice and get along.

Hey mama, do you have any other seeds? if possible can you start a couple in rockwool, the 1.5 started cubes.
Then we will be rocking exactly the same setups=)

I am not sure, but think you may run into problems using those little peat pucks, in bubbler setup. I never have personally tried, but going from soil to hydro seems to cause lots of problems, much better going hydro to soil.

Well i have rockwool but through experience and talking to others i have found that rockwool throws the PH way UP and i already have a huge problem with my PH being high. When my hubby went to AHL for me he had asked what the best thing would be for hydro to start seeds ( he knew what we were growing) and he said the peat pucks were the best and that is what i had used on some of my very first grow and i used the rockwool. The ones in the pucks did way better then the rockwool. That is all from my experience it may be different for others.

Yes i do have other seeds but i have 4 right now going and then i am getting some clones next sat so i am going to wait till i know how much room i have before i start more. But maybe i will try the rockwool again so i can show the difference. I dont know i havent decided yet. :)

cool beans.
Yes its good to rinse the rockwool, and then presoak in 5.5 ph overnight to correct the ph problem. The ph in the small cubes isn't to big of a problem in my experice compared to the 6x6x6 blocks, where there is so much more rockwool.

Sure to grow is a netural ph, but its really flimsy, and I don't like it as much.

are you using the little peat pucks, or the rapid rooters?

I havn't ever used either, so I cant compare, but that would be cool if you did a comparison/ = ) seems as though the stuff would break down over time and mix with the water, but yeah I havn't used it so i don't know.

I used recirculating water culture systems in the past, but have switched back to the buckets, allowing me to have a staggered harvest. I know in recirculating systems people have problems with the peat breaking down at getting everywhere, although I am not sure what causes the breakdown, im guessing the recirculating of the water over the puck. but in these standalone buckets, with just a aip pump doesnt seem like a big deal.

what did they send you with the kit when you first bought it to start seeds with?

They sent it with rockwool so i did some in that and then i was also starting my veggie garden so i had the jiffy seed starter kit that had the little peat pucks and started some seeds in that. When i transfered the plants that started in the pucks i just rinsed the soil off came off pretty easily from what i remember, and i normally change the water every two weeks just because it made me feel better so i never really ran into a problem with a whole lot of stuff floating in the water. We shall see soon though one of my seeds poped out of the shell last nite so hopefully in about a week i will be able to move it to hydro. There is one more that is close to coming out of the shell and two that are taking thier time. I am hoping that i can have my seeds and my clones start at the same time. I need get some more ph stuff so when i do i will soak the cubes (i have the small ones) and try seeds in those.

hi mama If I remember right it was not 2 long ago that you you got your "ph stuff" was it ph down .and was it a quart bottle. Asking because I have had 1 bottle that I have been using for about 2 months to adjust ph from like 8-8.5 to 6.5 and have only used about a little over half a bottle.

rapid rooters are the way to go. they work fine for hydro or soil and don't retain near as much water as peat pucks. they allow lot's of air to the root zone. can't beat em.

just my $.02.

hope all is well mama!

Hello all,
MV is right about soaking the rockwool before using it. That is really necessary before using them for your plants. Also consider wearing a respirator when working with rockwool because all those "fiberglass" particles can be nasty. Those particles are also know to kick up and can stick to your buds. Pruning off the lower parts of your plants can create a buffer zone to help that issue.

If you are looking for cheap ph up and ph down, try baking soda (up)and lemon juice (down).

I think that the guy at AHL told your hubby wrong.........oasis cubes are best
for starting seeds or rooting cuttings that will be grown hydro.Rockwool does have PH issues, but I think they can be corrected by soaking in the correct ph'd water.

thanks alfonso! i try to help out here wherever it's needed. i've been here for a couple of years and the place has really taken a dive. there were server issues in the beginning of last year that ran a lot of folks off. i consider this place my "home". i've tried other bored and they just aren't the same. that's also why i'm tough on new peeps. a lot of people come and go, maybe after posting a question or two. it get's old.

i'm glad you and the rest of the NM people are here! we need all the good people we can get.

yeah, i hear ya about the PM. i don't think the site owner (Sundance; who's never around and doesn't really seem to care about the site whatsoever) plans on incorporating them. some have their contact info under their rep/report violation buttons.

there is a suggestion thread though, maybe you should drop a line in there.
