i have a closet that is about 3x5 and pretty tall. i need to know what brand of light to buy and all that. pretend my IQ is 70 when explaining your answer please =D im new to this and want to start growing as a hobby

well my friend happened to have a 3 ft uv light, will that be fine for 2 plants? and my budget isnt super limited but i'd like to save as much as possible. also, can someone explain to me when you need to move the plants into diff pots and all that and what size? sorry lol im new to this, its overwhelming

1. a 3 foot UV light is not enough

2. you move plants to a bigger size pot, when the plants are rootbound...(one gallon up to 3 gallon is normal)

3. growing costs money...$$$...how fast do you want to grow?

just do some reading.. this forum is a wealth of info..

or, stick them in the ground outside if your in a warm area.. water once er twice a day depending on weather.. and harvest in 3months or so..

so should i go w/ that clamplight setup w/ the cfl's? its a pretty small closet lined w/ aluminum foil. nd if i just germinated 2, should i start them out in a 1 gallon or in something like a solo cup tht i can easily cut open to transport them to a bigger container

yes...16 ounce party cups work well...for germinating seeds and growing seedlings for 3 weeks veg...:thumbsup:

ps...fluorescent tubes work better in veg than CFL's...IMO..:cool:...must be 6500k

you can't buy what you need to grow good weed at Home Depot...sorry...I can't think down to that temporary level. You want to grow good weed?...or just giving it a quick failure shot?

You HAVE to know what you want & get it online...IMO...:cool:...there are many minimum standards you must reach...to grow good weed...period...no magic lights...no magic soil...no magic nothing.

...and it all costs money. If it was cheap, easy & free?...everybody would be doing it...:thumbsup:

well help me out then, thats why i posted this lol. these 2 seeds i just germinated are simply a trial, i ordered seeds from a seed bank so i have till whenever they get here to set up something good. that being said, what CANT i get at home depot? soil? lights? u didnt specify

I have a 2 x 4 closet with a 8 foot ceiling. The height is the most important part of a closet grow. (it gives a place for the heat to rise)


....BUT, it's in an empty darkroom...cooled by AC.

if your closet door HAS to be shut during lights on?...you would never be able the use HID lighting, unless you use a cool tube. Otherwise, you are stuck with fluorescent lights.
