Hello everyone, ive been reading hundreds of posts related to indoor growing... so after some research i decided to give it a try. This is my first time growing indoors... I uploaded the pics, tell me what you think, should i go into flowering
I have no idea what strain im growing, do you think its a indica or sativa?
-Week 7 vegetative growth
-1 - 20 watt CFL 7500K
-1 - 18 watt CFL 6500K
-giving a total of approx 2500 lumens
24/0 light period
-Only using a natural algae (PHYTOM) nutrient, every 20 days
- Watering approx every 5-7 days
-Plant height about 7 inches
-Has 7 alternating pairs of leaves
*This plant hasnt been given any special fertilizers, just plain growing soil
*Some of the tips are burned, thats because they got to close to the light :rasta:

About the strain, I don't know that.
You can switch to flower but personally I'd wait another week or two atleast, and I'd deff at least double the lighting, you want as much as you can poss get for flower. Get some of the Y adapters and two extra bulbs.
If you do flower the lighting should be 2700K.
I'd give it more time to let those new shoots, right above the nodes, grow out a little more. If you give it a little more time and keep up the good work you should harvest a bit more that you would if you go 12/12 now.
EDIT: OH YA! Kinda forgot... Its looking good so far  and welcome to can.com :rastasmoke:

Thanks for the advice Slevinkal, yeah its kinda hard to know which strain it is, mainly because you never know what you get when you buy in this part of the world.
I was planning on waiting till the end of october, that gives me a couple of weeks.
Yeah I need to put some CFL's next to the plant to stretch out those side shoots a bit more, but you can see in the picture that the bottom is really bushy but they are not stretching as much.
Thanks for the advice bro, ill try to post some more pics as the weeks go by.

You do have a fan circulating a little air around the plant right?

Most deff!
Bump it up to four if not six lights total, if the heat doesn't become an issue that is. More lights = more growth. Something hanging lower and to the sides will help get a lot more light on them lower leaves, you're deff gonna want more when it starts producing buds.
If at all poss get rid of the tin foil, it creates hot spot that are not very good for the plant, get a board or something and paint it flat white. It reflects about 80% of light that hits it plus it kinda diffuses the light to give a more overall effect. I made the tinfoil mistake too and now the inside of my grow box is all flat white and it glows. Hell! if the best you can do is some cardboard and a can of flat white in a spray can its still better than foil.
BTW, I got a four pack of 40w 2700k CFLs at a HD over the weekend for about 6 bucks. I kinda like 4' fluoros more but the CFLs are so damn handy and they really put out an close equivalent to 4'ers at the same distance, real easy to drop in at tight spot where its needed.

I dont have a fan, but ive been doing it the old fashioned way, fanning my closet 3-4 times a day, i hasnt been a problem yet, as the plant has been growing at a pretty good rate the last couple of months, probably because i leave the closet door open most of the time which makes it have natural air circulation.
First time i hear about the tin foil making hot spots, maybe thats why the leave tips have started to burn, ill try to follow your advice on putting white cardboard on the sides.
Yeah my closet its pretty tight, at first i was thinking of setting up a normal fluoro but cfl are easier to raise as the plant gets taller.
We dont have HomeDepot here, but i defn go with your advice on putting on a couple of 2700k lights when flowering

Well, it does more that circulate air. It is prob a moot point by now, you'll know next time, but the fans purpose is to blow towards, not onto, the plants to make it wiggle just a bit when growing. It helps make the main stem somewhat thicker and stronger, think about plants outside. Ur in flower now but next time.....

 Good

I tackled that prob too :D I put both my 4' double fluoro's in a hood I made. There is just a small chain on each side that hangs on hooks. It's pretty easy to raise and lower if needed. Plus, they sit on a shelf that is also adjustable.

:rastasmoke: Even better
Some of the tips are burned, that's because they got to close to the light
You might want to look into this. You're using 20 and 18w CFL's so unless they just get uber freagin hot, compared to the two 40w CFL's two of my plants are with 2 inches from, they prob didnt burn the leaves. Probably didn't, just keep an eye on em, no worries. Not unless the leaves were touching the bulbs for more than a few hours.

Check out my grow log, its my first too :D
I made a few of the rookie goofs you did too and like I said, I'm growing with CFL's too, there just in addition to the 4'ers.
:S5: Good luck w/them buds
