:stoned:Hey everybody this is my first thread on here just wanted to show the plants and get any input, tips, suggestions, whatever. This is my first successful indoor grow sort of (last ones were male) but I have grown a few outdoors so I know a little bit... also I have been looking in to using blackstrap molasses so any advice as far as that goes would also be greatly appreciated.
I can't upload pics for some reason so ill put links...

those look just fine. I'd figure out how to get more density on the next run though.

Ya I have heard that using molasses will help them become more dense which is one of the reasons I was asking about it, is it true? And also I have never used any nutes but on my next grow I will be using all organic nutrients, so any suggestions on what seems to work best?anyways I'm going to update pics like once a week for everybody to see the progress. Oh ya I almost forgot, flowering was started Oct. 1st

yes molasses does work but I have very little experience with it. I dont do soil I grow in coco and molasses wont work in anything other then soil. Check around the forums, others use it and can tell you how it's used properly. Kool bloom is a product similar to molasses and works very well. Very expensive though so stick with molasses if you can make it work.

did you see this FAQ on one of the other threads?
molasses (http://boards.cannabis.com/indoor-growing/187785-molasses-sweet-organic-goodness.html) There is also another discussion you might want to follow in the growing section. Somebody else who has already used it I think.

Another update, nothings really changed that can be seen in pics but trichomes are developing very nicely and all over! I got some molasses last night and just introduced the first feeding of molasses I have about a teaspoon per gallon of water so we will see how that works out, I have my fingers crossed lol

Haha I just noticed that I only uploaded 1 picture haha i was still like half asleep, here's some more.
Also I was wondering if blue light is bad during flowering?? I'm using a combination of T12s and CFLs all at 2700 to 3000k but there is also a T8 that is 7500k that I can't find a different bulb for, should I just leave it off or is it actually benefitting my plant? Sometimes it seems to lean away from the bluer light and go towards the red light

ya your lighting is definitely jacked. You want 3000k bulbs in flower and 6000k bulbs in veg. Your not putting enough watts to them and watt equivalents dont mean squat to a plant. You need 150 watts of 3000k light on it at a minimum. Go to home depot and check the flood light section for a 100 watt CFL bulb. They run about 20 bucks I think and I would get two. I'm not talking about the 23 watt bulbs you have there but a 12" long 100 watt input cfl. Very cheap, very accessible, just what you need.

Well I have four T12s about 3 inches above the plants that are all at 3000k is that really not enough? Damn greedy plants lol I have a 400W HPS that I would love to use but I can't find a ballast for any kind of reasonable price so the lightbulb just sits there in the box

So I'm looking online for a HPS kit and I came across this one, seems pretty good right? I only have 2 plants
Sunlight Supply Sun System HPS 150W Grow Light Fixture (http://www.hydrowarehouse.com/sunlight-supply-sunlight-supply-sun-system-hps-150w-grow-light-fixture-p-1471.html)

I bought a 400 watt digital system from HTG supply off of ebay. For the priced it has been awesome. One bulb came defective, all I had to do was email a pic and the replacement was in the mail.
So if you can get around a slight language barrier, customer service is good too.

malware from that site.
150 watt are very popular for a couple plants. The 400 would be best if you can find a ballast to fit your budget.
T12's put out no light at all. The 24' T12's put out about 1400 lumens which for you means light rays. T5's put out 5000 lumens in 24". My 600 watt HPS puts out 90,0000 lumens. 23 watt cfl's are at about 1500 lumens per bulb. Starting to see the difference? The 150 watt HPS is around 16,000 lumens. You want about 5 to 6k lumens per plant.

10-23-2010, 05:36 PM
I know what lumens are lol ya I'm just looking to get this 150W uuntil I can afford the setup for my 400w. I thought the t12s would have been enough lol so I'm gonna order that lighht tonight

you'll love it. Makes a huge difference and next grow you wont see so much stretch.
DrGr33nthum
10-26-2010, 04:24 AM
Ya that stretched one had a very hard life but I somehow kept it alive haha next grow I'm getting some purple power clones too so I'm excited indoor growing is so much better than outdoor

there is also a T8
I wont even begin to argue that a nice 600w isnt better but I've had good luck under T8s.
:D I want a 600w'er too, maybe even two 150's if I scrog but Im going to stick to the T8s for a while to keep the temps and noise level down since its basicaly a stealth cabinet grow.
Here is my T8 success if you wanna go this route

What do you consider reasonable? $41 reasonable enough?

holy shit i think i just fell in love with u i havent been able to find sheeit under like $200 so if i got that the only other things i would need are the socket and reflector right?
Ocotillo
10-27-2010, 08:36 AM
Socket (mogul size) and reflector yes. You'll also need a power cord and as this is just a bare raw ballast you'll also need either; a housing to put it in or just mount it onto something. A cookie sheet would also act as a heat sink for cooling!
Be creative, but safe.

price it out dude. I thought I could build my T5 setup cheaper then a prebuilt. I just didn't look hard enough. Not all companies are greedy ass bastards. In the end, with whole sale pricing on all those parts, it might be cheaper to just buy it all together. I went the DIY route on T5's and 600w prebuilt HPS

Week 4 just ended so here's some more pics! Buds are starting to look delicious they don't smell too much but when I get real close and sniff the buds they smell kinda gross, very pungent, not like any bud I've smelt before... also I can already tell a huge difference with the molasses and trichomes are everywhere :stoned:

just what out for bugs. Anytime you start moving from indoors to out and back, you run a risk of spider mites mainly but also other forums of insects and fungus.

Thanks, ya I stopped posting pics but they look amazing now, everybody that says t12s aren't worth using is mistaken, I'm about to chop them tomorrow and they smell and look great :) took a sample a few days ago and it was some pretty strong smoke I'm stoked to see how the rest comes out after dried and cured

How did that work out git ya? Got a pic of a cured bud? Smell ever come out?
DrGr33nthum

I didn't take any pics of the cured bud but it was pretty tastey, sad day though I smoked the last of it the day before yesterday... only got about an ounce off these 2 though...
