im talk bout clones of clones over and over.

if so how long does it take before you see this change?

It would take a long long long time. Some strains out there are clone only and have been around 10,15, even 20+ years. You wont need to worry about losing potency.

thats what i thought.now in another thread someone says that they do?

Clones and seeds need the genetic diversity to evolve and adapt. An overcloned plants metabolic age will eventually get too old and tired to properly grow. Remember...it's main job is to reproduce. Eventually their system will 'give-up'. The things that make you love the strain...will fade and mutate into hemp-quality garbage eventually. (a very slight exaggeration, but it's the best I can do with this headache)

Rusty did not write that the clones get weaker. He wrote: An overcloned plants, meaning the mother plants that you are taking clones from, not the clones themselves.

:D at least thats what I took from that post

I think your Right Slev, Which brings this into question.

Bonsai Mums: A Guide - Grasscity.com Forums (http://forum.grasscity.com/advanced-growing-techniques/291687-bonsai-mums-guide.html)

I'm doing this ATM, tho my mums are only a few months old.

Claims of 10+ year old moms are far from un-heard of.

LOL! That's the way to do it! I kinda jumped in feet first, and got my ass kicked for it.

Doing that just ensures that you don't run a mother ragged over the years, but even taking clones of a mother, many clone generations later, you still have a carbon copy.

Ok. Lets end this debate for the love of all that's holy please.

well explain this for rusty:'But the enviornment determines how the plant(s) will react in any given situation, and is not limited to one singular response.'

ok now if that is true and im controlling the enviroment and the enviroment is controlling the plant.cant i make the plants grow the way i want?

and by me taking the healthiest clone each time, allowing them to be more stronger, and able to handle more stress.

im just triing to get different peoples ideas on this.
