Hi there guys, first post here and I'm looking for some help:
My girls are approaching day 1 of their 8th week of flowering and I've discovered they've been pollinated by a stress-induced hermie - we didn't catch it in time and can see a few seeds on girls nearby.
I'm new to the world of gardening but as I understand it pollination is to be avoided because a pollinated plant will divert all its energy to seed production. From what it looks like, most of the plants' buds have developed and the pollination occurred after this development took place... I'm hoping this is the case. Unfortunately I can't upload photos to help you help me but I'm just looking for some information specific to the timeline in which our girls got 'violated' :
Will we observe a decrease in potency?
Will we be able to use the seeds from the pollinated females?
Are we fucked?!
Pardon the language but its a little somber around camp at the moment... any insight is appreciated!!!

the damage is done. Remove male or herm if you havent already. But pretty much. yeah ,your screwed. You can just finish and dry bump all seeds out and smoke the rest. Are they bagseeds if so .throw away start over.

we're having trouble identifying the herm! is it possible that its just one small part of an otherwise female plant?

if its a herm then thats what it is unfortunatly..... i had some trainwreck x white widow that hermed two weeks away from harvest. nada to do about it. I got a bunch of seeds that were hell to pick out but the bud was still good. i just didnt get as much bud cuz the plant started working to produce seeds. but now i gotta bunch of seeds just in case. good luck with that ;)

will all the seeds be feminized that come off the harvest? Will they have herm tendencies?

They will be predominantly female seeds. I dont want to say 100% female because you never know. And some may show herm. tendencies but im sure there will be some that dont. NEVER throw out cannabis seeds even if they are "bagseed" like the ignorant person above suggested. "Bagseed" can be grown into amazing chronic that guy is a fool.

I had two females, one sour diesel x trainwreck and we think the other one was chocolate chunk, but in the 12 12 light sessions, I noticed pollen sack starting to build on my sdxtw plant. Scared the hell out of me BUT truth to be told, i pulled the sacks off in a somewhat fresh stage when their tiny, and couple more grew back in a couple days, still in the same are, but not as many and also pulled them off. They never grew back.... and had a EXCELLENT harvest with pic proof of no seeds:)
I don't know if it was the fact that I caught them in an early stage or just got lucky.

Was it a hermie or a stress induced female ?
A hermie the male balls will look normal male.
A stress induced female will have banana sacks in the thick of the buds with no little hanging stem.
If it's female banana's then all female seeds.
If it's hermie throw all seeds out as they will be a very high ratio of hermies.

Weeelllll, let's see if I can gather my thoughts well enough to spout off with something intelligent, pretty stoned right now, meds just hit me.
If the male pods are the result of stress to the female (Which is usually the way things go as we are always pushing the plants as much as possible.) then the result will most likely be female, the tendency to hermie would be fertilizing the same plant as the pollen is on....cross pollination gets ya feminized seeds.
Damn I am stoned...good brownie..Yum.
Next point. The pollination and seed production will decrease potency if the entire plant is making the seeds, i.e., it got totally fertilized. Most likely this is not the case. Therefore, only part of the potency will decrease - theoretically. The biggest pain is getting the damn seed outta the smoke.:wtf:
At 8 weeks you should be close to harvest, personally, I think you are just fine.:D
