PROBLEM: I have too much info on how to make a grow room that I am overwhelmed and do not know a place to start.
I am on day six and my seedlings are all doing WONDERFULLY.
QUESTION: the room I plan to use is approx 16x12, with only one window.
I will have questions on lighting and ventilation too, but first how do I prepare that room?
Thanks in advance:thumbsup:

First off, you will have to decide how much you have to invest, and how many plants you want to grow. I would divide the area into 2 sections, The Veg room, and the flower room. You will need about 1/3 of the space for vegging, and the rest for flowering.
Depending on where your window is, try to have access from both rooms if you can for easier ventilation. For a wall dividing the two, consider framing it, and then using "panda film" (plastic sheeting, one side white, the other black) available at grow stores. You could just put a sheet the size of a door to use as an entrance between the two areas.

Thats one of the biggest mistakes Ive seen people make... planting seeds before they know how to grow or have a place to do so. Much much more reading is the key. There are tons of stickies that explain all the basics and more.
Goodluck and keep growing.

Thanks for taking the time to look over my question and helping with the situation of it. I will definately make a two part room, the window is in the middle so I will be able to use it on both sides.

I agree it is a huge mistake to crack seeds before you have the grow room. I am into gardening, and was using a small greenhouse box I made(just to see if I could.)
Now that they are growing, I am actually wanting to see if I can yeild anything. This is just a test run, and yes, I have the time and some money to spare, ( I just want the best advice before I buy equipment that is expensive and not right for my setup...so I figured with experts like you guys, I could get the best grow room started, so that I can plant my good seeds. Any advice you want to share, or anything you would like to critic can only help me.
Thanks

Well, think back of your first grow? I doubt it was perfect...
I believe mine was worse than popping seeds without a PLACE for growing.... at least he/she has the SPACE !

...for jumping in there, and getting some lil' ones started!
I agree with keylime about dividing the room into two sections, though you might wanna make the split more like 60/40 if possible, with the larger room reserved for flowering plants (which are inherently larger, usually, than the ones you're vegging). Make sure your flowering room is totally light-tight, as light leaks when the plants are sleeping can spoil or massively delay a crop.
Also, think about your ventilation, and try to establish / maintain a room temperature of 78f/25c. Also, make it easy to adjust the height of your lights, without having things too flimsy and possibly falling on your plants.
You might want to line the floor with some heavy plastic, too, and run it up the walls at least six inches to act as a splash/spillguard. Or keep a mop and bucket handy.
As far as the seedlings go, try to give 'em 18/6 light, with a 'regular bedtime', and treat 'em well, and you're more likely to get females than if you stress 'em and treat 'em rough.

first goal is to get them out of the makeshift gardenbox. (then the grow room)
second goal is to get a room prepared (which I didn't do, because I didnt think these would grow at all.)
third goal is to nurture them until they are big enough to flower.
fourth goal is harvest them, (try a clone if I get the hang of this)-just to see
fifth goalis to dry the buds (not sure if I am supposed to just do the whole thing, I hear its better to dry the whole plant after taking the leaves off, as it tends to keep more thc? (what do you think?)
sixth goal keep a plant for myself.

to all the answers I have received, thank you, it is all great advice and going into my huge pile of notes. (yeah I am a nerd)
my lil ones are doing really well, as far as what I've read in the forums, so hopefully nothing is lost by the time I give these girls (hopefully a few) a place to flourish.
