I have to leave town unexpectedly the week or so i need to harvest.

I am not sure if i should chop early and have half ready buds

Just water the soil good and let them sit in dark for 7 days.

Or Would wicking the soil root ball from a alternate water source work while still running lights as normal? Does the roots need to grow into the cloth wick to keep the plant alive.

I dont have time to make any thing elaborate just some thing to keep one female fully budded alive the last 2 weeks of flowering and one little mother plant i just started.

Any help or ideas will be much appreciated i really dont want to lose this female or mother and have to start from scratch. I will be taking clones and letting them run while i am gone so when i get back i will hopefully have some clones if the mother doesnt make it.

You could set up a reservoir system that slow drips to each plant. Figure out about how much you are watering each day and times it by the days you will be gone. Get a plastic container and run a gravity feed drip line to each plant. Then you should be good.

I would def not chop them early. It would be a waste....
