400 watt HPS GROW LIGHT 400w System Hydroponic sun lamp - eBay (item 120462772924 end time Oct-19-10 10:17:27 PDT) (http://cgi.ebay.com/400-watt-HPS-GROW-LIGHT-400w-System-Hydroponic-sun-lamp_W0QQitemZ120462772924QQcategoryZ42225QQcmdZVi ewItemQQ_trksidZp4340.m8QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DMW%26it s%3DC%26itu%3DUCC%26otn%3D5%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D52 34009640677184910)
400 watt hps, I think it comes with bulb.
Anyone know of a less expensive HPS 400 watt light?
I heard they get like 80$ now, been searching but no luck.

HTG Supply is the shit. They have really good prices. They dont have many actual stores, but there is one within 20 minutes of my house, and they are good. For that price, its a good deal, But i highly reccommend the 90w LED UFO lights. The are equal to a 400w HPS, and theyll save you money on your electricity bills.

I wish I had one around me, im in Texas. Are they around the same price as the 120$ hps 400 watt one?
And do I need to switch out the light during Flower? from both the hps and led ones.

90W LED UFO lights ARE NOT equal to a 400W HPS! don't believe the hype. LED works great for veg, but not so much in flower. it can be done, with nice results, but you will lack yield.

there is no need to switch either a HPS or LED when transitioning from veg to flower.

I got my digital ballast for 130, and my hood was another 60.
I shouldn't have cheaped out and got yield master of cool sun hood. it would have been less hot and cost less money because I plan to buy one soon anyway.
these cheap systems might fill a need, but sooner or later you're going to want a better [sealed and air cooled] hood and quieter, less hot ballast that lasts longer. and the intial investment is not that much more ($200 vs maybe $250 to $300)In the long run, you'll end up paying more money, not saving any.
