Are there any MS patients out there who use marijuana to help with symptoms? I am being regarded as a "possible MS" case because of the weird way my symptoms and test results have lined up. So, definitely not 100% confirmed but that is what we are zeroing in on.
Anyway, I started using marijuana for pain from trigeminal neuralgia. I have heard that it also helps muscle spasms, twitching, and the other MS-like symptoms I get. My experience so far though seems to be the opposite. I seem to get spasticity and twitches way more often when medicated. I am wondering if anyone else has this experience.
Right now I have a few theories:
1) it's completely coincidental
2) certain strains may not agree with me
3) marijuana-induced paranoia is making me THINK I am having more symptoms
4) marijuana is relaxing the conscious part of my brain a bit, which is getting my out of my denial or whatever
Anyone have any thoughts? My current favorites are 1, 3, and 4. I don't have much anxiety period and it doesn't worsen when medicating, but I suppose it's possible (3). With 1, I am a big believer in coincidence and the human tendency to assign meaning where it doesn't exist. And 4 is definitely a possibility since I'm a bit of a control freak/disciplinarian.
Guess there's no way to know for sure, just thought I would see what MS patients have experienced with these issues.
