There seems to be alot of rumors about Prop 19. I'm in the industry & I will give you a well educated summary of both sides & than you may decide for yourself. I do not run around on CL Rant & Raves so any arguements will go w/ no reply. I'm simply here to help some people see clearly as to what this exactly is & how it will work leaving yourself to decide.
Lets start with the people who are opposed. The majority of these groups are alchohol, active MMJ services, tobacco, etc. They are leading people to believe that prop 19 will mess up their medicinal MMJ laws. The most important thing to know is that this bill DOES NOT effect medicinal patients in anyway shape or form.
Those with prescriptions will have not 1 single change in their' laws. You will not be restricted to a 5x5 grow area, thats for non prescribed users. Large corporations will not take over as marijuana will still be considered an illegal drug under federal law so they will not touch it. This leaves local Californians to pave the road w/ this could be new industry.
The reasons why the "activists" are telling you to vote no, the reason they are calling it a scam it pretty clear. They fear competition. The state of CA is not about to open a large pot farm to supply the state. That is a fantasy. It will be growers registered through the dept of health who supply our land. You will have to be a CA resident.
What are the dispensaries going to do when you don't have to be medical to sell pot out of a store ? The ones who are overpriced legal drug dealers will fall. Those who are in it just to make a living will prosper. What drug dealer wants competition ? Did you know your average dispensary makes over 2 million dollars a year ? Yet they are non profit & compassionate ? LOL Get real.
This new law, AGAIN...Does not effect medicinal patients at all. This just makes it where anyone over 21 will be allowed personal amounts for transport, growing their own, or going to a legal establishment who will charge a $50 tax per ounce putting money into our state.
Others who vote no are your anti marijuana people. They just place all drugs in the same category & do not look at the positive vs the negative. However marijuana may be the thing to save your kushy state or county employment.
If this does not pass, here is what will happen. 1st and most importantly no laws, no bills, no cops, no crackdowns, will even put a dent in the current marijuana industry. It is growing such as the plants do & no matter what you will not stop it or slow it down in the state of Ca.
Instead of us collecting the money to help out our state we will be allowing the legal drug dealers known as "caregivers" , the mexican drug cartel, & many other illegal operations will be pocketing the cash & you will be seeing none of it like right now. People will continue to profit under the radar while denying our state an entire new industry.
Did you know last week a new law was passed where if you are caught w/ anything under an oz is now just a $100 fine & not a criminal offense ? It was passed & is in effect in Jan. This will make whatever is going on now pump even more marijuana in no matter what happens in Nov.
Now if the bill passes.....the people of Cali will have made a very smart decision. It clearly reads it on the ballot. Possible Hundreds of Millions of Dollars in taxes collected annually. This will also bring in tourism. Do you have any idea how many people go to Amsterdam just so they can smoke in a coffee shop ?
All of that MJ tourism will pour into Ca for the fact they can walk into the store & buy it. It will create thousands of jobs in Ca due to all the new services & establishments. The only thing this law is doing is allowing people now to smoke, possess, grow a small amount without the bullshit prescription. The prescription will just entitle you to more rights. Medicinal patients again will not be effected by this.
There is nothing anyone can do to stop the marijuana in our state. It will continue no matter what. Why not let it kick our budget it in the ass, create new jobs, steal from the cartel, steal from illegal operations, etc ? Just stop & think about it for a minute. Why would dispensaries, delivery services vote no ? It is because they will have to make regular money like everyonelse.
They wont be buying 3.5 grams of weeds for 10 bucks & charge you $70 . Those non compassionate drug dealers out to get rich will be out of the picture. It won't be fast money for them any longer. Anyone who wants in the industry will now be allowed in without some bullshit $50 meaningless peice of paper saying your legal. It will be a wide open maket that local Califonians will control. Sorry you will get competition, thats life.
We could just vote no so criminals get stronger, cartel gets stronger. Why not shut em down by putting their' cash in our pockets ? Even if you hate marijuana, it would be foolish to vote no. Weed won't stop in Cali.....You might as well let it help us. We will be the marijuana capitol of the world, Amsterdam's pot industry will be smashed. Hundreds of thousands of people who can;t afford amsterdam will come here.
The cons of this..........there are none. The people in the Marijuana industry are going to keep on if it don't pass. If it will be here anyway which it will, why not let it help us ? Our state is in a crisis & there is a very ez helpful solution.
VOTE YES ON 19 !!!
