I have a landrace Thai. Done as much research as possible, know it likes very acidic soil among other things.

This is a female plant and it shows the 'pre' flowers. It has been in the flower room for 50 days and still is not making buds, just growing and showing flowers at the bracts. Is supposed to be a 10-16 week maturity according to mfg. Looks healthy.

It lived in 18/6 for 4-6 months before going to flower room. This is not the first one, as I have placed 3 others in the room and they never got to budding and got so big I had to kill them and get a smaller one going. Anyhow.

Anyone with experience with Thai from the very Northern aspects of Thailand? I sure would like to pick your brain if so.

So my question is essentially how do I make this fornicator bud?????

Since the seeds you are using come from very close to the equator, very small changes in photoperiod is enough to trigger budding. Since they live in the tropics, just two hours less light in winter is enough to trigger budding.

The problem with that is it takes forever to bud. Thai likes to be seduced into budding. As you shorten your photoperiod do so at a minute a day or two. A giant switch will not work. Remember these plants come from a land of 12/12. Take away a little light each day and the plant will bud.

Straight Thai weed is usualy very dark and does not pack up into big buds. More scragily buds, that will kick you ass. And they will grow very big. Very big.

Thai is more an outdoor strain. As a rule it should be very mold and rot resistant. It can happily sit outside in the rain for days. I breed some Thai weed into all my strains for the above reason. But it is a bitch to grow inside.

Thai landraces generally produce tons of floral bracts but never large buds. This is actually true of most Asian landraces (I do landrace preservation for the Dutch, so I've grown many Thai, Chinese, Cambodian, and other strains from that region.)

The THC-V content can't be beat, though! Instant headrush!

Hmmm Having to do a gradual change is not feasible in my current situation. Guess I will have to just keep it cloned til spring and then put it outside, my god it will get 30 feet tall here.

Shoot. Dang. Darn even.

Chemical induction? Kinda like inducing labor in an overdue woman?????

Dream on I suppose. Best go play golf.

EDIT: Is any of the flowering related to the magnetic forces at certain times of the year? I am also open to any knowledge about the species in general from folks who know.
