Good Turnout. Some of the topics included the high cost of the meds, the purity and testing of the cannabis, greedy producers, PPL plant limits etc. The proposed changes were met with much criticism and little support. Not knowing who the new Sec of Health will be and KNOWING Susanna Martinez is against the program annoys all of us. We don't want to set the stage for the next administration to jeapardize the progress thats already been made. $1000 application fees were looked upon unfavorably by the patients as were the annual renewal fees regarding our medical cards. Why should patients have to renew each year? That is crazy.

I appreciated the honest and frank testimonies from those who stood in line. I don't know who he was, but the man on the stage on the FAR left w/ the crossed legs I thought had extremely rude mannerisms. Rolling his eyes when people were speaking, staring off into nowhere and just basically disinterested. Sandiabud's statement sums up pretty well what was addressed. The picture in the SF reporter article got the right side of my head and the corner of my glasses in the wayyyy lower left side of the pic So atleast I got my picture in the paper (kind of) LOL! Seriously though, the turnout was impressive and we had to park pretty FAR!

No final decisions at this time.
There is a deadline of October 10th for the public to send in written concerns about the proposed changes. Then the DOH reviews, hopefully amends and sends it up to the Health Secretary for approval.
