Hey Yall! first post here so hopefully this can get resolved in a hurry.... I will cut to the Chase and thank you in advance!
I have some ladies who vegged for a couple of months, all about three feet tall when i switched them to 12/12. They are been growing strong for about 2 weeks in flower to the day and look amazing!! However today at three hours into their night cycle i discovered that one of my lamps had not been turning off! As u can imagine i am seriously stressing out.
In all honesty i believe that the one rogue lamp has been 24hrs on for maybe 2 days, maybe three, can i PLEASE get some input to what people think i should do and or how badly i might be screwed at this point??
I know that it takes about 1-2 weeks to see signs of hermaphrodites and god help me i am prayin to ol' sheeba on this one, i also know most hermi's happen when the night cycle gets messed with regularly (which has NEVER happened) Prior to now they have lived comfortably at 70 degrees and consistent light cycles with no interuptions. Peace, Thank you.

Not so fast with the "you're screwed" there IntricateD. :(
Hey Iceberg420,
If you are pretty sure that thier night cycle was not interrupted you may not be screwed. The couple of days of 24hr light will have just made the plant try to reveg, not a cause of hermies. You did lose the chemicals that make a plant flower but you can get those back pretty quickly. Put the plants into complete darkness for 24 to 36 hours, this will get the plant back to having it's flowering chems back quickest. Then start again with your 12/12.
Think postive, IMHO you will be ok. :)

great idea thank you, but a few questions, 24-36 is a fairly large difference why such a difference? and also, if i DONT go to 24-36 hour of night do you think they will just go back to a normal cycle eventually if i go back to their normal 12/12? If so, where do you think they will pick up? should i start at the first week all over with nutes and aim for another 6 weeks? or start with the second week nute levels as if nothing had happened? im less concerned with time and more concerned with getting a good crop. Thank you

actually forget the first part of my question regarding the amount of hours, it makes sense....

Well IntricateD, there is a wide range there. But remember there are alot of variables with the different strains we run. 24hrs is what I'd deem as the least amt and 36hrs being what I'd consider max. This dark regiment is based on transitioning from veg to flower, something in both of my grows I would like to do, but can't since I have continous vegging going on and continous flowerring happening at the same time. Just don't have a dark room to put them. I do SOG, which is smaller plants finishing in waves, light every two weeks.
If you go back to your 12/12 and don't bother doing the dark routine, that's fine too, it will just take longer for the plants to get back to flower....maybe a week or so maybe longer (again a bit of strain dependent).
Not sure about your nute schedule, but I'd probably pick it back up with the second week and go from there. You are going to stop nutes at least 1 week before finish and if that turns into 2 weeks there is no harm. You are looking to get the plant to use up all the nutes it has stored, plus anything in your grow medium. You know- final flush and all that.
You should be checking your girls anyway, on a regular basis, for any signs of hermies. That seems to happen when you least expect it. So just make sure you do that, and even if you see signs of balls or 'nanners late into flower just pick the off and despose of them outside your grow area, preferably in water.
Hope that this helps you and everything works out.

:D Thank you sir, just a last check, nothing can go wrong with that much darkness right? Thank you again.

I have had this happen many times and it boils down the strain for the most part. You can do the 24 hr dark cycle and then go 12/12.
My big problems happened much later into flowering, usually when its early you have the best chance to save them.
Even if one throws out a ball or two you can pick them off and sometimes nothing else happens and its all good.
