Problem: Plant leaf turning yellow
Conditions:
Temp: 79
Humidity: 48%
Resevoir pH: 6.25
Nutrients: 1/4 strength micro and grow
Vent: closet grow, door remains open, osc fan
Age: approx 1 week old
Light: (2) 85w cfl, approximately 3-4" from plants

From research I'm guessing it might be nutrient burn... hoping someone with a little more experience can throw in their two cents Picture in album, listed as plant problem 9/20/10

If you are going to plant it in soil, now would be the time. That looks like Pete moss that it's planted in. If it is, move the seedling into the pot it's going to grown in until harvest. I had similar problems with plants I planted in Pete moss.

If you're doing a hydro grow, you will have to incur a wiser source of information.

What is your experience level? (first timer, novice, experienced...)
first timer

Your Equipment:
.1) Type and wattage of lights. (MH, HPS, CFL's, tube fluorescents, LED's)
1 85w cool cfl
1 85w warm cfl
1 400w mh/hps
.2) Distance from tops?
16" for mh/hps and about 3" for cfl
.3) Reflector type? (cool tube set-up, bat wing, enclosed reflector, bare bulb...)
enclosed reflector, no glass
.4) Is there a consistent fresh air supply?
yes, constant fan from humiditor and two osc fans
.5) Do you have an exhaust fan and a circulation fan?
i do not have exhaust fan, door to room stays open with a window in the next room. also, there is a airconditioner in the room to help maintain temps and humidity
.6) What are the bulb wattages, kelvin ratings, and schedule?
6000k mh 38000 lumes
between the two cfls there is apparently 9000 lumes or so

Your medium:
.7) Specific brand and type of soil, (coco, peat based soilless...) and anything you've added to it. (vermiculite, perlite, worm castings...)
rockwool placed in hydrotron containers
.8) Size of container.
3-4"
.9) Did you use peat pucks (or similar) to root clones or germinate seedlings?
no
Your nutrients and water: micro nuts and grow nuts 1/4 feed schedule, water is tap left to rest with a natraul ph of about 6.5
10) Source of water? (tap, bottled or filtered) What's it's ph before adjusting?
tap, 6.5
11) Method of checking water ph. (ph pen, test strips, aquarium test kit...)
all
12) Method of adjusting water ph. (phosphoric acid, white vinegar, hydrated lime, PH Up...)ph up and ph down
13) Specific brand and N-P-K ratio for each bottle. List dosages (quantity per gallon) and current feeding schedule. advanced nutrients, pre-packaged micro, grow, and bloom nuts. 2tbl in a envelope, added 1 tea to 6 gallons of resevoir water
14) How often are you watering between feedings, and how much per watering?
constant aero/hydro system
15) Any additives or tea's? (Superthrive, CalMag, molasses, Mother's Earth...)
no
16) Are your ph levels stable, or do they fluctuate?
fluctuate slightly, by about .25%- not all the time
17) What is your ingoing water's ph? ...your runoff ph?
in 6.5-.6.7 out 6.5-5.75
18) Do you foliar feed? If so, with what, how often, and at what time do you spray?
not yet
Your growroom:
19) Indoors or outdoors?
in
20) What size of closet, room or hut?
4x3x9 closet
21) What are the temps and humidity levels while lights are on? ...With lights off?
on: temps 77-90 humidity 40-55%
off: temps 68-77 humidity 40-50%
22) Have you seen signs of insects in the growroom?
sort of, introduced new plants to grow with infected soil (little flying bugs from the soil) so i removed them from the main grow and moved them to "the hospital wing" it dosent appear any other of the plants were effected. plants with bugs are currently undergoing a neem/soap treatment as per the directions on the bottle
Your strain:
23) What strain are you growing? (Indica dominate or Sativa dom?)
bagseed, the leaves are fat, so I believe it is indica dom
24) From seeds or clones?
seeds
25) Is this an autoflower strain?
no

yes. I soaked the rockwool for about 24 hrs in 6.5 h2o and the hydroton was rinsed about 5 times in a strainer before introduction to the net pots. I notice that the yellow is not spreading, however my leaves appear to be turning a light green now.... I am due for a nutrient change tomorrow.... i'll include pics in my album.

is your rockwool staying damp? you might want to remove the plastic that is wrapped around the cube as this can cause issues. also, how close to the plants is the 400W?

thx for the help shake :) yes the rockwool is staying damp. I tried your suggestion and removed the plastic (FYI when I removed the plastic I observed condensation on it). The plants are about 2 feet from the 400w.

the plants are about 4" tall, ive only noticed the yellow on one leaf approximately 1/4" from the stem, the yellow has not spread, and appears to be contained to that one area. I think the leaves are turning light green/lime now..... almost like a white haze over the leaves.... I am do for a nutrient change tomorrow. so we'll see whats up in a couple days.... all this work, watch it be a boy!:wtf:
