Hello Brandon1423s!
I apologize for the late reply to your inquiry...
I am VERY familiar with the A4 strain; for a few reasons.
#1-My business works with a very specific group of powerful and medically beneficial strains; A4 is at the top of our list.
#2-My business partner is the BREEDER of A4...successful cultivation/harvest for over 16 years.
There is quite a lot I can tell you about this strain; however, it is important to note, A4 WAS the result of a government grant funded clinical study in cannabis genetic cross-breeding of pure strains. The US government was involved with A4 during the 1990s; however, after they concluded the clinical studies and research, they left the strain with their breeder...to assume permanent control.
My partner's family is a well respected agricultural bunch of Californians who have certified organic status for almost 2.5 decades; growing all types of veggies, fruits, nuts, etc. They were chosen by the US research group to assist in the breeding and control full cultivation of the A4 strain.
Anyway...there is lots to tell. Feel free to send me a message when you have time. If you visit my webpage (Dailybuds Medical Marijuana Community - Epsilon Culinary Cannabis Creations's Profile (http://dailybuds.com/Epsilon/)), you will be able to see some very nice pics of our last A4 harvest.
Have a great day!

So is A4 any good? is it sativa? indica? is seed or clone available anywhere? was it part of the g13 and bubblegum craze?

Hey 505,
I just picked up some A-4 from a private growers collective here in Norcal and it's outstanding! First of all I was always sold on the idea that indoor is so much better than outdoor. That all changed for me today. This A-4 I have is nothing short of amazing. The flavor is so sweet and deep. I use a "vape" so it's an extra special flavor experience.(IMO) It's smooth but has an expansion that I almost couldn't handle. There may be some Sativa I got a lift from it. The high was clean, It was a great day.
How's that deliscious Hatch green? mmm Sopaipillas...

Hello "420guy916"
Thanks for posting some good info about the A4!! The private growers you acquired the A4 from in NorCal are VERY familiar to me...they are my partner's family farms. Since he has been in FULL control of A4 since its breeding inception back in the '90s; the ONLY place you can get high quality and REAL A4 is from us.
We do have bonded couriers and brokers that sell our harvests to a variety of collectives spread all through Cali, Nevada, and Michigan.
We are opening our own collective here in Sacramento soon; although, it will NOT be a dispensing operation. We will only use it as our research and development facility, production and packaging of Epsilon edibles and drinks, and Green Treats flowers, concentrates, and other specialties. We will offer A4 tinctures, earwax, and much more!!
Please give a holler...I can certainly answer any questions you may have about the A4 and if you are interested in acquiring more, I can point you exactly where to go! Besides my freezer of course...there are plenty of places where super high quality A4 flowers can be purchased ;)!!
A4 is the perfect example of a cannabis flower that is NOT super frosty or inordinately resinous; it is the example of a flower that surprises you in its amazing ability to treat!! (By the way...A4 is no ordinary cannabis plant...it IS the only documented cannabis plant produced under a federal research grant...we keep the documents close to our hearts!).

MadSativa!! You asked about the A4 lineage/info.
It is a hybrid; primarily indica over sativa; regardless of what anyone will tell you. It is probably the ONLY indica-dominant strain I have dealt with (out of hundreds) that has ALL the sativa benefits, yet allows the indica benefits to shine through. In simple terms; you can stay awake/alert/functional with complete pain relief, nausea relief, energizing, anti-inflammatory, allows you to stretch your muscles/tissue out with ease, relaxing without tiring...but when you want to hit the sac; no problem!! It will provide the BEST sleep ever and will not make you sleep through a major disaster...you wake up rested, loose, flexible, and clear-headed like you have a clean-slate.
No disrespect to any other strains, but A4 is by far my choice for the most amazing strain on the planet. The only strain I have found that compares with A4's sativa-like effects in called "Full Moon" out of Thailand, but good luck finding it!
With regards to the G-13 like craze...G-13's mysticism is rooted in folklore; in all reality, G-13 was NOT a gov't created strain, but it WAS heavily researched by the Canadian gov't during the 90's and beyond. On the other hand, as I mentioned in the last post; A4 IS a gov't created strain...not in the sense that it was a mutated genetic invention; NOPE, it was a cross/hybrid between two F1 UNKNOWN strains that went through 3 years of clinical trials in the 90s in the Bay area before being mysteriously dropped (the study, the cultivation center, the labworkers, etc)...it was all closed down and my partner's family (in charge of cultivation on the project) retained control over the strain. My partner (founder of Green Treats in Sacramento) continues control over A4 and we care for it like its our little precious bundle! Check out the reviews on Cannapedia:
A - 4 in Western United States. Cannagen - Cannabis Genetics for the Cannabis Generation. (http://cannagen.com/cannapedia-strain-detail.php?sid=372)
Nevermind their listing of NO breeder and sativa/indica dominancy...they are lagging in correcting the lineage info and we would rather not provide gov't documents to them just to prove breedership!! Would you want to be spreading gov't papers around like that? Look at what happened to Wikileaks!
Any questions about A4...let me know. We are currently doing testing to produce an extremely high potency A4 "earwax" that will likely blow your minds!

^^i guess u didnt read all of what he said... A4 was the ONLY US gov't strain project that made it as far as it did. G13 and Armageddon are just dank strains. not federal. just good.

Hello fellow cannabis-brethren. Thanks for being patient with me...sorry about the delay in response!! So to address MadSativa...scotisativa90 hit it on the head regarding your question: A4 is the ONLY US Government strain in existence. What does this mean?
#1- It does not even come close to comparing with Armageddon or G-13...A4 is in a class all by itself. It is an F1 phenotype hybrid from an Indica dominant breed (over Sativa...no Ruderalis known to be present). There are some theories that it has the strong sativa-based strain "Grapefruit" in its breed; however, that is simply a theory. What I CAN tell you...A4 is like NO medicinal strain you have seen...nor will you ever. It packs a SERIOUS pain-relief punch (due in GREAT part, to its UBER-powerful anti-inflammatory properties); loosens the body up beyond belief. Unlike most high CBD strains that have a whopping drowsy or "down/sedated" effect, A4 provides ALL that "CBD-relief" while keeping you functional. I like to call it "the best of both worlds."
#2-The records on this one are sealed. I have come into possession of some original documents from that gov't study; PROVING that this strain was bred under the authority of a US Gov't funded contract. Unfortunately, coming across lineage info is about as hard as finding a needle in an acre-sized haystack. When the gov't shut the project down; my partner held onto the strain (per his legal rights under Prop 215/SB 420)...under the condition of a non-disclosure agreement. What he did NOT get to keep was any details on the breeding of the A4 strain. I WILL find out...its only a matter of time!!
#3-A4 is NOT a strain that is available to medical patients...in seed, clone, teen, mother...nada. There is a certain degree of protection we maintain over this strain for VERY specific reasons!! There are a LOT of growers/breeders out there who CLAIM to have A4 and/or CLAIM to sell A4 seeds...unless a patient acquired cured flowers through us (via a broker or direct supply...available at certain CA-clubs), that patient has NOT obtained actual A4. There are WAY too many so-called A4 strains that have floated around the market...there is only ONE real A4. Keep in mind...this strain has been available at numerous clubs over the past 3 years (NorCal and SoCal)...brokered out from my partner.
So...no clones availble. Sorry guys!! What we WILL be offering very soon...a HYBRID of the A4 strain bred with Thailand's oldest F1 strain. This Thai strain has NEVER been available on the US market...its somewhat of a Thai-secret! Testing above 35% THC, this Thai strain will be a perfect way to boost the Sativa-effect of the A4. I will certainly let everyone know once we have it available (and we hope to have clones for patients as well). Please visit me @ facebook.com/EpsilonCo
GREENELEPHANT!! I feel your pain...I spent a great part of my childhood in Hamtramick (Detroit), where my mom grew up. I can only imagine the changes Michigan has faced dealing with maintaining a stable med-cannabis system! Although I cannot source A4 seeds out to you, I CAN point you in the correct direction regarding the proper strain. If you visit me on facebook, please send me a private message describing (if you choose to) your condition. I actually do this for a living: intakes with patients to determine their treatment needs and create a "treatment" plan with the appropriate strains. You MAY want a low THC/high cbd strain...but in all reality, your condition will determine what strain will work best. What I do here at Epsilon is formulate COMBINATIONS of strains to target certain conditions. We've been successful in treating over 3 dozen terminally ill patients to date...so PLEASE; let me try to point you in the right direction!
For any NorCal patient in the Sacramento area...come by ONE LOVE WELLNESS collective (1841 El Camino Ave, Sac) this week: 4/20 through 4/23 from noon-6pm. Epsilon will be there to answer questions about our products and the ever-so-special A4 strain!! This event will be the LARGEST cannabis expo in Sacramento to date: lots of great performers and over 30 top-notch vendors.

Quick A4 update...
Ive discovered the genetics part way. Originally thought to be Ind dominant, A4 may be more balanced. Its actually a hybrid of Grapefruit Haze and an unknown landrace Indica. I know that isnt a massive revelation, but trust me...its a great step inthe proper direction!! Plus, we are now breeding out grapefruit haze with some tremendous landrace Indicas, from one or more of the following regions; Oaxaca, Nepal, Afghanistan, Pakistan, North Africa, and a number of Central & South American sources.
We should have a respectable A4 duplicate finished this year...going to run comparitive DNA to ensure similarity, enough to justify giving it the name of "A4.2" Anything less will be donated away as part of the learning curve. I have numerous samples of A4 that will be permanentely preserved, since the strain was compromised in 2011...those will be used for DNA sequencing only.

I joined this site ONLY to say that I have had the glorious opportunity to smoke this once.. ONLY ONCE. I loved it and have been looking for it since. I cannot WAIT till you introduce this. I have been waiting for 2 years now. I have kept my eye on this thread since 2011.
