Here is my story:
Today I went in for a job interview with this excellent company. The job has everything I could ever hope for -- great pay, benefits, flexible hours, competent management, etc.
I KILLED it during the interview, demonstrating myself to be the intelligent, well-spoken individual that I am (and that many pot-smokers are). After the interview and a tour of their facility, they reviewed my answers and later met with me in the office. They told me all went well and they want me on their team, but I need to submit myself to a background check and a HAIR analysis drug test.
So, I come to you fellow cannabis users, looking for answers from anyone -- those with suggestions, those with opinions, those with experience and those with expertise in this field -- hoping that I will find a solution to my dilemma.
I am a REGULAR pot smoker. How much is regular? Well, I smoke pretty much every damn night and I am proud of it. When I come home, finished with a day full of school, work, or whatever, I do not hesitate to light up and pat myself on the back. My primary method of smoking is vaporization (I am a proud owner of a volcano), but I sometimes pack a bowl, smoke a joint, blunt, or whatever.
Amount consumed per week varies. Usually I'll have no more than a 30 piece to my own ingestion, but other weeks I'll up the dosage a bit and smoke maybe an 1/8 a week. And finally, once in a rare while, I might go as high as maybe 6 grams in a week.
As far as body type I am tall and athletic. I am very active, and participate in sweat-inducing activities almost every day. My diet is very good, and I consume many detox-friendly foods such as fruits and veggies, as well as daily consumption of green tea.
For those of you still reading (and I thank you), here is the important part:
I have a good estimate on how capable the detoxification processes of my body are. You see, last year I was in a similar predicament except, I was facing a urine test instead of a hair test. My smoking habits were the same (everyday usage), and I was needless to say very worried about the upcoming test. After only TWO DAYS of being clean, I bought an at-home drug test. The test determined that I was NEGATIVE for THC. I was of course shocked and bought a second drug test of a different brand. This one also told me I was negative. On the third day of sobriety, I just went to the lab and took the test; the end result was an official NEGATIVE for marijuana (phew!).
From this experience, I can determine that my body does detoxify quickly when compared to the norm (I read urine analysis can trace up to 45 days for those who smoke as much as I do). If my body does have a great detoxifying speed, how can this impact the results of a hair analysis test?
My test is approximated to be in a couple weeks, and today begins my first day of sobriety (just vaped a couple bowls last night). With this in mind, what steps should I be taking to help ensure a negative result for THC during this hair test?
It seems that some type of detox-shampoo is necessary. What types/brands do you guys recommend? Actually, a better question would be what overall treatment/therapy do you recommend for my hair over the course of the next two weeks to help get rid of the toxins? Are the shampoos safe to use on my head (i.e. do they cause hair-loss or anything like that?).
Any changes in diet that may help? Any particular foods that can speed up the detox process and prevent more THC from being absorbed into my hair?
If you made it this far, then thank you so much for investing time into my problem. If you have ANY feedback to contribute then please do, I am waiting, anxious for answers!
