Beginner grower could use advice

I live in an apartment, and I wanna grow in my closet.
I have a walk in closet in the corner of my bedroom next to my window that is probably the most ideal place.
The closet is 5 feet deep, 4 feet 10 inches wide(weird), and the ceiling's 8 feet up. I've already removed all the racks out, so it is just a empty room with carpet.
I'm not looking to grow dozens of plants or anything. Im looking to grow for personal use, and possibly make a bit of extra money.
I'm adopting the lighting system from my old aquarium, its a T5 Fluorescent fixture, it probably should be appropriate, but I don't know what bulb's I need. (I'm used to aquarium light bulbs which come in a variety of intensities on the spectrum).
Here's an idea of what it is:

Also, I'm not sure how I could set up an exhaust system. Is it possible to just put a tank of CO2 on a slow leak in there next to a fan?

I'll be posting more, as my journey continues, and I'd appreciate any constructive feedback from experienced growers. I'm aware there's guides to this, and I am reading them, but I would like some specific advice/ideas on how to be successful.

I see a lot of talk of sales.Do people understand the term of donations and adequate compensation. Probably get better response from the clubs took me a few tries but after I did I got a lot better response.

Thats true man Get Legal, Like I did. Yea it cost, for me I have dumped well over 3k into it but you know what I'm State complient, and thats a good feeling when you dont have to dip and dodge. Plus if your growing for money you into this for the wrong reasons. I grow to truely help people. Thats what your aim should be. whether its for you or others make sure your legal,safe,smart and have some ball... Gl and if you need helps on steps to become legal let me know. One Love

ZEROWINGX if u could help me with some legal aspects that would be great. i live in Riverside county and i want to open a COOP i guess. Well what im basically trying to do is grow for a collective/s. I am not trying to grow for any means of street use strictly to help patients and help collectives meet their demand in product. I understand that i can not grow anything more then 100 plants. I plan on buying a warehouse somewhere in zoning laws and cordinating with county laws. Ok...I will try and answer some of the questions.

Dion, go to the grow threads....in grow sections and read the FAQ and stickys all of your answers will be there...there are many posts about closet growing.

I believe we should be talking about Medical Mary Jane....and if your can get legal in your state or country....that is what you should do right away.

Typerracer247.....your post made me giggle:rasta:....I have a question for your. Have your ever grown before?...do you have any knowledge? If this is an idea in your head...you have many....and I mean.....many....lessons to learn....my advise is go to the grow section of this website and read every grow log there is.....every one of them...all of them have excellent reports and knowledge....the ups and the downs....Go to you tube and watch every show put on by Urban grower and stickeyfingerkoma.......in the middle of all the reasearch....try and grow your 6 plants indoors....and see what happens..see if your like growing....because if your do not like growing your will fail very fast.....For me growing is Fun....I love the challange to do it right....very few stoners can grow...sure they can put some seeds out or put one or two plants under some flor'os...and possibly get an ounce or a few grams.....but growing is not easy....and the people who do it right are masters. Most collectives can not grow properly...they are retailers pure and simple.....now boutique growers....that is a special breed.

If I could start my grow room again....I am in soil.....I would try the method by shaggy....the thread is bubblers.....Huge bubblers....the guy got 2 to 3 pounds per plant several times....has all the pictures....and design....I would study that method ....and start very small.

For all newby growers....please go to the grow section and start reading....nothing and I mean nothing make most good growers who visit this site....is when a newby who has like less than 10 posts .....stating something like this """""hey guys I am a new grower please tell me what I need to grow for the collectives"""""......Really that is offensive to us.....do your really expect us to respond to a post like that? Do some homework...get some knowledge.....heck I read two books on growing while I was growing before I even thought of asking people on this site for help......
