I grow veggies/etc ----------------------------------well reverse organic hydro style im calling it the wicker tricker.
Get a container/deli meats the ziplock kind make three hole in bottom of it put in three wick shoestrings then dirt and fertz mixed in soil. The wicks should be long out the bottom of your container as these will be your feeders for your plants.
Water it ahead of planting in your hydro medium install the wick into the netpot on perimieter in a circle.
I use three small wicks vertically inserted I sometimes use one in a circle you can get creative here just make sure they are on edge of net pot this is where the root take in the most nutrients on the outer edge of the your netpot.
The reverse wick system will feed your plants on schedule and the last two weeks just cut the wicks. keep the dirt watered and resovior with good clean water and youll grow like a pro every time organically. I use dynamite organic time release @ three tablespoons for a 4 gallon grow.
You can feed multiple pots from from one dirt bomb wicker centered among the plants if they are not gonna be moved.
Only water the dirt enough to wet it not soak it keep moist .
You can use anything to wick from i use the hillshire farms delimeats container it is perfect for 4-5 gallon grows.
Remember dont soak the soil just keep it moist so the wicks do not drip into your clean rez. Grows huge grows ganic it just grows em mon' liter style fruits.
yes you can use fresh compost or old compost or just dirt--
Cliff notes: (WICKER TRICKER)
Small tupperware etc container
make holes for wicks in bottom of container
