I've recently been getting into reggae music. WHen i'm in the mood I really love it, but do not know many artists. My question is, what are all your favorite reggae artists?

I like bob marley of course, but when i'm in the mood for somehting a little faster I like Sean Paul.

If all of you want a good laugh listen to Matisyahu. He is an orthodox jew who does reggae. I think its funny b/c hes 1/2 descent.

Bob Marley, Toots and the Maytals, Jimmy Cliff, Peter Tosh, Eek-A-mouse.

I personally stay away from Sean Paul. To me, that's not real reggae. but it's good music in it's own right.

I wouldn't consider Taj Mahal reggae. His new stuff is 'carrebean-esk' but isn't reggae. Regardless, the man is a great artist who has produced some damn fine music. I'll listen to Queen Bee 100 times in a row and not get tired of it. What a great great song. He also does an excellent version of Bob Marley's 'African Herbsman.'

dude, if you really want to hear some heavy island music i suggest you check out, buju banton. personally, i like him better than bob marley...in the sense that his music sounds better. i'm not sure yet if his lyrical qualites are as good as bob's - main reason being is his voice is a little difficult to understand.
