This whole situation is BS:

Canadian pot activist Marc Emery has been sentenced to five years in a U.S. federal prison for selling marijuana seeds south of the border.

The 52-year-old Vancouver resident learned his fate on Friday afternoon in a U.S. district court in Seattle. His lawyer brought about the five-year prison term on the charge of conspiracy to manufacture marijuana.

Surprising, no comments.

Was just watching a natgeo program on MJ and showed Marc and his operations in Vancouver. Talked about Canada refusing to extradite Marc to the US.

The DEA moved pretty quick to change all that.

When are you Canadians going to figure out that you're just another territory of the US?

You WILL OBEY OR YOU WILL FACE OUR WRATH!

Kidding of course. This is the NEW America- pretty huh? Land of the Control Freaks!

this is totally out of control not only on a marijuana basis but on a sovereignty basis. i was reading this article and its crazy how he had to plea it down just to save himself from facing more years. also below the article is a link to the youtube video of his wife speaking out. great video!!!!

hes sitting at home as we speak:D it looks like they gave him a 1 year that included time served and then let him go back to Canada for the remainder of the sentence... 4 yrs probation

.

By imposing the five-year sentence, which includes four years of supervised probation, U.S. District Judge Ricardo S. Martinez honored a plea deal that Emery, 52, entered into with U.S. authorities to avoid a lengthier sentence

They got what they wanted, he was force to publicly apologize and admit guilt (what ever that means) and they got the MONEY

I do not think this is accurate information.

He is hoping to be transfered back to Canada within 6-9 months, then serve a short time in Canada being release early for good behavior & time served.
