I just got my TDS PPM Meter.
I tested my tap water and it has around 35 PPM.

Does this mean I need calmag+ ?

What we do, and I know others here do as well, add Calmag to 200 PPM then nute to the PPM your looking for.

I suppose it could, but prolly not. Typically CalMag is used with say tapwater that comes out of the tap at 200 ppm and ads calcium and magnesium which is generally lacking in such water.

Well the post above mentions that distilled and RO water need calmag+,
and I thought that was because that water is pure with no TDS in it.

And I thought tap water with higher ppm already has calcium and magnesium?

tapwater containing 200ppm probably has plenty of calcium and magnesium (along with lot's of other stuff) in it. water measured at 35 ppm is pretty pure, or contains no (next to no) elements.

like tiny said, you add your calmag to 200 (or 250) and then add your nutes. the majority of nutes out there don't contain calcium or magnesium in quantities necessary for cannabis (if at all).

distilled and RO water DOES NEED calmag. and you are correct, that is because there are NO (are next to no) dissolved solids (tds= Total Dissolved Solids) or the elements like calcium and/or magnesium in them. they are considered pure (or very close).

higher ppm tap water more than likely contains all the calcium and magnesium your ladies need.
