I Have a bad algae problem in my ebb and flow system. I didn't want to put any chemicals in the water and risk clones or mothers. The only other solution was to purchase a fish that feeds on algae. So I went to the pet store and purchased 3. I changed my water and added my ferts to the water in recommended doses then added my fish. After 4 days the fish are still alive. The plants are still very healthy.
The fish eat the algae and poo in the water. the water is then pumper up to my ladies and they get a boost from the fish poo. like a poop shake for desert after dinner.
At this point I would recommend others try this if they have a prob with algae in an ebb and flow system.

your both in luck. There is a very odd fellow...very smart...very odd I think...but he is very much into aquaponics which is fish/plant growing. You can take it a step further and not use artificial fertilizers for the plants. That requires some serious knowledge though to be able to create not one, but two stable environments that are self sustaining. It can be done, insert fish food on one end, out pops MJ on the other end. Fairly slick if you ask me.

Aquaponicherb I believe his name was. I couldn't understand half the technical part of what he was saying but seeing the outcome ......... that guy knows what he is doing no doubt.

Aquaponic has a PHD is THC. I got mad respect for him and his cannabis research.

I think that you might need certain organic nutrients in order to keep your fish alive. I remember reading from his grows that artificial nutrients were either too toxic, or too concentrated for the fish/plants.
