I will have an 8x10 room , plan on installing 2 -1000 watt hid,s there are so many choices and this being my first indoor grow , can be confusing- I have been looking at 2 different sites- Green Coast and High Tech Garden Supply. Green Coast seems to have good prices- I hope to spend around $350. per unit- which manufactorer and which store is best. Also would it be to my advantage to start with one of those T5 floros I am reading about- Or can I get good results with seedlings with one of the 1k lights- everyones input is appreciated and considered

I use these folks...UL rated...made in USA......Grow Light Systems | High Pressure Sodium | Switchable Grow Lights (http://www.accessdiscounts.com/grow-light-systems.html)

(check page 2)

Good, safe quality, at a reasonable price...designed to last a lifetime. I prefer the magnetic ballasts & High Output T5's fluorescents.

Been using the mag ballasts since 2005...

Dutch, Thanks for the info, I have tried to connect to site of accessdiscounts, all I get is a blank page, have tried many times. How long do you use your floros for , also if I do not get a T5 will I have a lot of problems with seedlings under a 1k light?

The 1000 watt will do OK...just keep it up high...so it don't scorch them.....(try google search...Grow light systems)

I use the T5's for three weeks...then transplant & go HID 400 watt to harvest.
