Post-Labcorp - is this normal for results?

So I did my test on Sunday and called Labcorp today for results. I figure it couldn't hurt. Anyway, they said my results were submitted yesterday (Tuesday) but they wouldn't tell me what they were (only that I could call my employer).

I'm assuming that since they were submitted in such a short timespan that they came back negative and I passed (If I'm right, then whoo!). And I haven't heard from my potential employer yesterday or today so no news must be good news.

Is it true that positive results usually take 5-7 days because they have to be sent to another lab for verification and that negative results are much shorter (2-3 days) because they only go through the first screening process that checks for 50 ng/ml?

No news is usually good news but not always. The prospective employer may not call you if you were positive. Call the employer and ask if you have a start date yet. Never mention a drug test.
It generally doesn't take any longer to do the donfirmation test because its all done at the same lab.
