Lights for sale on CL, anyone know about these or whether they would accept common grow bulbs?

that depends on the size of the ballast, it looks like it a built in ballast or if it needs one.:stoned:

What watt are they? Probaly built in ballast. But ask. Seem bulcky, but i would remove guts lengthen wire and make it fit my needs. could use that exsisiting reflector as well. thats if they are hps ,if so then great for flowering.

A High Pressure Sodium set-up requires High Pressure Sodium bulbs. Nothing else will work in 'em. The ballast is in the housing.
What's the wattage?

Today I think he (she) reposted them, and listed them as 400 watts.

A 400w HPS ballast requires a 400w HPS bulb. The only exception is a 400w MH conversion bulb, (converts your light from an HPS spectrum to a MH spectrum) but the 'regular' HPS bulb is better for all-around use, than the converaion bulbs.
Do not use any other bulbs in the HPS.
The price is good, if no replacemnent parts are required.
