Budding Ruts (http://www.sfreporter.com/santafe/article-5600-budding-ruts.html)

As I was reading, something kind of confused me a little. I'll let you guys read it and see if you get confused too before I say what confused me.

Not really confusing as seemingly untrue. I have not dealt with SFINM but I don't believe for a second that they have product available for 700 people at all times.

I have dealt with Grassroots and the lottery thing is untrue also. When they have product they will take your order in exchange for your money. I've heard rumors that the prods are supposed to limit orders to a 1/4 but I have bought 10 1/2gms at once from them.

dont think the 1/4 thing is true. but if they only have a little bit of product they will limit how much you can buy.

It is more expensive then everyone else that is why they have some. They call me every other week asking if i want some but there is no way i could afford it. Im sorry i cant remember the exact price but i know it was significantly more.

I'm kind of confused as to how 95 plants can supply 700 patients at all times. Unless they have some sort of a magical green thumb, the numbers don't add up. Probably like Chance said, untrue. And I thought it was just rude and uncalled for what Donna said about the new producers. Not knowing how to grow and all. But I guess if they're so good they can grow mounds, maybe she can. Just basically thinking out loud.

Oh I see now and you might be right. they dont except any new Apps so they might not even be able to supply who they have now.

Donna, a representative from the Santa Fe Institute for Natural Medicine (who declined to give her last name), says in a voicemail to SFR that ??the problem with the new producers is they really just don??t know how to produce?they??re trying to say it??s someone else??s fault that they don??t know how to do their job.?

SFINM, the program??s first licensed producer, has 700 members, she says, ??and we??re able to serve every one of them.?

Yes but SFINM only services people from the Santa Fe area. The other producers are taking up the slack for the rest of the state. Instead of being critical of other producers why doesn't she do some research and get her facts straight? There is a limit with some producers on how much you can get PER STRAIN due to availability and the lack thereof.

Are there 700 members in santa fe area???

Im in rio rancho and i am able to order from them so i know SFINM is not only for santa fe. I was also told shortly after i had registered with them that they were no longer taking applications and that was back in early march. I dont know if it is still like that since i am already a member.

Normally i get an email stating what is ready and when it will be ready. I like them just because of all the updates i get but have not had a chance to try the medication.

There are six more coming online in the next couple of weeks . DOH will be sending out a list to patients. hopefully the pricing will also come down

MMJ is like any other commodity where the market is controlled by supply and demand. As long as there is conversation here/elsewhere that centers around finding any available product from the "producers" and not conversation that is centered around the 15-20 different strains that are available from the producers (a.k.a. "competition") the price will remain where it is now. (unfortunately)

I completely agree...i dont see the price coming down at all in the near future. But i do think insurance companies should see it as a medication so we can use our RX benifits for the purchase of our medication. I am very lucky i have health insurance I am covered under SCI (state coverage insurance, kinda simalr to medicaid) and barely have any out of pocket fees for medication. So it would help us paitents out a great deal if we could do that.

The thing that hit me most, besides the unreasonable bashing of all other producer\growers was that the spokesperson from SFI.. claims they can take care of all 700 of their patients yet they have never done so.

I want to know what strain they are smoking over there?

BTW I "was" a patient of theirs but I have recently resigned from their patient roster.

It's says right on the website that they only service Santa Fe and the informed me by email that they only service that area. Weird.

Maybe its because i am so close to santafe that i am able to order form them, but then again i havent been able to order any meds so maybe when i do get that chance they will tell me the same.

Sorry FLYINHIGHT2, but I just had to post in your thread. The prducers I know have 4 card holders on their board. Each card member has 4 mother plants instead of 4 budding plants at their personal house for their personal license. The nonprofit is growing as many clones as they could get off of 16 mothers. You all probably have an idea of how many clones that could produce. That enables them to have the max or close to the max of mature plants in the nonprofit. They crop those, then repeat the process. They may only have one mother or two on site. Would this process allow for more available product more consistently?

Makes a lot of scents with something like that. Thinking good. Legally is able to be done like that?
