I just found out that since I live in Pennsylvania, that we have a very strict wage garnishment law. In a nutshell, if you have credit card debt out the ass like I do, a credit card company CANNOT sue you for wage garnishment. HOWEVER, they can get a court order to deduct wages from your bank account, in which you either close the account or change accounts.

What is even cooler though is that you cannot go to jail if you fail to repay a court ordered garnishment for credit card debt in Pennsylvania since it is considered civil.

So I am just not going to pay anything on credit cards anymore. Fuck them. I am in a debt settlement agency called Everest Debt Solutions which I found out are pretty much scammers now (what are the odds! haha!) so I must cancel the program and save my money that I am paying them a month. I currently pay them over $300 to take care of some of my accounts. Also, they never mentioned that I will be hounded by the IRS in the future for taxes on settled debt which is fucking bullshit anyway!!! Since the fuckers never eve settled my debts yet, they don't have shit on me yet.

I also owe almost $60,000 in school loan debt, and I had scholarships and grants too!! Federal school loans can be garnished so I am concentrating now to pay them rather than any fucking credit card.

Overall, I'm sure you can tell I don't give a fuck about my credit score. I am moving in with my g/f later in the year so nothing will be in my name and it will be great! Just have to hold out for 7 years.

Some people will bash others who got too deep in credit card debt. Fuck that. The point is that credit card companies charge such ridiculous high amounts of interests and fees that they should all deserve to go bankrupt.

Where was my bailout? Why was there no bailout for the American consumer? No bailout to wipe everyone's credit card debt by at least 50% or more? The "STIMU-FUCK-ME-OVER-IN-THE-ASS" package just put more money in the companies' pockets to keep enslaving us for an allotted amount of time.

Bankruptcy is the American way but I heard bankruptcy will not absolve school loans...

Yep do a little research and see if bankruptcy is an option.
I did it about 30 years ago and never bothered to get any credit since. If I don't have the cash I don't buy it. And have lived happily ever since.

i hear you man, one of my credit card companies (that i bailed out with my tax money :wtf: ) raised my rate to 33 fucking %!! never late or over my limit they just need some more revenue I guess. :wtf:

i went thru what your going thru in my younger years, too, ended up just saying fuck it to all my credit card companies. thought about bancrupcy but thought that stays on your record for 10 years where as just fucking them over only stays on your record for 7. but they can sue you and try to force you to go to to court and all that shit. loads of fun. good luck. let us know how it goes.

Only Wells Fargo, B of A, and possibly Citi would try to sue me since I have higher balanci es. My other card debt would be written off since that is much lower. I already paid one Citi card off recently so that should be good enough for them.

But since I live in Pennsylvania, they cannot sue for wage garnishment against my employer, only my bank account which I will just simply close. No one has the right to come and take my hard earned pay from my account!

The kicker is that I make under $21,000 a year so the judge would more than likely rule in my favor and order the credit card company to simply write the debts off and order them to stop harassing me with calls.

All my accounts that were included in my debt settlement program have been referred to collection agencies and I had to get a new phone number because of the harassing calls. They called my employer and my family members so they all got cease and desist letters. Most stopped calling. I even bitched at some fucker in India who even refused to send me a new invoice to pay the debt. lol. So they can call and harass you all they want, but they refuse to send you an invoice to pay their debt? Something is not right here.

Why don't credit card companies go harass people making fucking $90,000 a year with a $300,000 house? This is what started the housing crisis. Paying $500 a month, than $800, than $1100 a month, than it gets to a point where you can't pay at all!

It also sad that everyone's interest rate has to go up so the CEOs of credit card companies can get hundreds of thousands of dollars in bonuses and host cocktail parties, while the average American really needs 2 jobs to make ends meet. That is sickening and it definitely calls for revolution!! Whats even funnier, is that the Federal Reserve is the biggest credit card in the world and it prints our own money.

All in all, America is a nation of debtors. Yes Americans should have been more careful when it came to credit cards, but Congress also should have enacted laws that protected us against ridiculous adjustable interest rates.

Owing a debt to someone and being legitimately unable to pay it off is NOT a crime!!!

yeah, from what I understand the congress and white house have made it much more difficult to get a bancruptcy over the past few decades. that seems to be about ALL they do. :wtf:

If you haven't already apply for Income Based Repayments on your student loan, that is a new law they passed last year that should cap you payment fairly low. its a good deal if you need it. thank you Mr. President. even tho I didn't vote for you, that was really cool of you.

oh yeah, all my credit card companies bit it except for one who sent some dude to my house with a seopeana or something. That one stuck. They came back about 10 years later and siezed my bank account. bastards. irs did that once too but i only about 5 bucks in there back then. :rastasmoke:

Another area where the banks are ripping off students and the government is the student loan shell game. After I graduated from graduate school, I immediately consolidated all the loans I had taken out. I had a couple of those private bank loans, and the rest were through Ford Loan Program run by the government.

In 1998, I started getting calls from a collection agency about a loan taken out with a Signet Bank, who sold the loan to another bank, who sold it to another bank, and it ended up with Wachovia. The department of Education told the collection agency that I wasn't liable for their bullshit collection attempt, one bank even told the Department of Education that they couldn't find the record and neither could the Department of Education find the origination paperwork.

But all the while, the fucking banks were trying to stick me with paying them through the collection agencies. This was still happening in 2004. I recently too the free credit report thing, and found my credit clean except for the fucking Signet loan bullshit with Wachovia taking a $20,000 write off for an loan of around $4K if I remember correctly. I still have all the bullshit consolidation stuff, and its been 14 years.

Because of all the bullshit, and loan paying jobs, I never paid a nickle on the student loans and frankly don't intend to. I'm on disability and if I ever start making decent money, they can still for fuck themselves because of the bullshit trick with the banks and loans, and by the time thing change drastically, I will be 65 and then free regardless of what I may owe. Besides, they owe me for all the bullshit they have put me through because of marijuana possession charges and denying me decent employment because some asshole wants to check my piss.

And, they really do need to investigate all the banking tricks and playing hid the paperwork and collect on the loan to the tune of 500%.

Got that off my chest. :D
