I currently go to the Berkeley Patients Group and I've been pretty happy with the place for most part.
Recently I was able to get an ounce of pretty good stuff from an old friend for like $180 and it was sort of a reality check for me. The ounce lasted me like an entire month. Sometimes I spend that much just in one week at BPG. To be fair, the stuff from the club was better but it made me realize how expensive the prices are there.
Pretty much they sell everything at 8th prices. They will give you a 5% discount if you buy a half ounce or more and you get a little money back from using the points you build up on the "points card" each time but for the most part there isn't really any discounts for buying large quantities.
Going forward, I'd like to find a place that gives appropriate discounts if you buy larger quantities. I'm not really okay paying 8th prices if I'm buying an entire ounce. Ideally I'd like to be able to get ounces of good quality stuff for $300 (or less) an ounce. That works out to $37.5/8th. The stuff they have in that price category at BPG is a noticeable step down from the stuff they have for $50-55.

I've been to 2 clubs in SF. There's one one Ocean. They give okay prices but they may have gone up since they started charging tax. They had Zips about 250 - 280 and maybe 1 strain at 310. Been awhile since I was there. The other one was the green door but price for quality when I was there wasn't good.
I don't bother with dispensaries though their prices are crazy. You shouldn't drop more than 280 for a zip ever. My friends cop of me for 240 - much fairer in comparison.

Berkeley Patients Group in Berkeley has ounces ranging from 140 to 400
plus ounces of shake at 60$
i go almost every day to this club and get ounces at least a couple days a week.
everything is priced by eighths ranging from 10-60.
the 25$ eighth is normally pretty good.
and when you buy 4 eighths (or more) you get a 10% discount and when you buy a prepackaged ounce you get a 12% discount.
Berkeley Patients Group is by far the best club in the bay area.
i would say in all of CA but i still have a little searching to do.:rastasmoke:
lemme know what you thought of the place if you happen to check it out.

Yeah, like I said they basically sell everything at 8th prices. $400/ounce is the same as buying 8 $50 8ths lol. 10% discount? BFD
My Dad used to buy ounces for $400 back in the day and I make fun of him for it.

Wow, that definitely has NOT been my experience.
My experience with their pricing structure is as follows (Iâ??ve been going there since 2008 or so).
$60 8ths: All of the stuff they have for $60 is labeled â??All Starâ?ť and comes in a jar. For some reason these 8ths donâ??t count toward any discount so you can forget about that 10% or whatever if you are getting these. I was told by another member that everything in this bracket is stuff they grew themselves (donâ??t know if that is true or not) but it seems to me that youâ??re just paying for the novelty value of the Jar and itâ??s not really better than the $55 stuff.
$50-$55: IMO this is the stuff you want to get if youâ??re looking for really good stuff, but it better be damn good for the priceâ?¦
$40-$45: This is the threshold where the quality starts to go downhill. The stuff in this bracket is still good but youâ??re less likely to get dense nugs and there are usually more stems, etc.
$30-$35: Pretty middle of the road stuff. You can find some good stuff in this bracket if you look hard enough but for the most part stuff is in this bracket because it wasnâ??t good enough for the higher brackets and you can definitely tell that when you smoke it. Sad because most places that sell ounces, you can get their top stuff for like $300/o which would put it in this bracket if you broke it down into 8ths.
$20-$25: Pure crap. You are guaranteed to get terrible weed from anything in this bracket. Most of the stuff not only tastes terrible when you smoke it but even smells terrible just in the bag. The only reason to get this stuff IMO is to mix it with and thin out more expensive weed when youâ??re rolling joints, etc. Itâ??s not uncommon to find hairs and even dead bugs in the weed in this bracket.
$10-15: $10 stuff is just â??smoking blendâ?ť which is a little bag of trimmings/leaves. Iâ??ve never tried out anything they had for $15 but given how bad the $20-25 stuff is I donâ??t think I ever will.

There are things I like about the place, like being able to smoke inside, fast efficient service, good hours, etc but for the prices they charge I donâ??t feel like itâ??s anything special there.
My friend said he would sell me an ounce for $150 and looking at it, it's about as good as the stuff they have at BPG for $40 except this works out to <$20/8th. I'll still go to BPG when I want a expensive 8th to knock me on my ass but I think I'm about done paying stupidly expensive prices for the bulk of my weed for no reason.

the $55 eighths are definitely where it is at. i prefer them over the all star simply because they always have new strains in that price range (I HATE SEEING PEOPLE COME IN AND ALWAYS GETTING A-S JACK FROST), i like to change it up. the 25 isnt "good" but its a great deal. try finding somewhere else that has a $25 eighth.
i'd have to agree to disagree with you that the 25 eighths aren't ever good. if you go at the right time of the day sometimes you can catch that good deal. early in the morning (11am) or around 5 oclock is normally where the goods start to come out. i ask them all the time when they restock their buds and its always sporadic.
it's hit or miss ALWAYS. you got to invest some time in there to really find the best deals. somedays i go in there and dont even get anything, its all about scoping it out. i love BPG because of their deals. (including the "on the rise" edibles, 6 doses 9 bucks try 'em out!):stoned:
but when the deals are there you gotta take advantage of them.
the $25 ounce comes out to 193 tax included. pretty good for an ounce if you ask me. but its just some mids at best. :/

Hailing in from Santa Rosa,
I usually I buy just one gram of a something off there so called "private reserve" and then if I like it ill get more but I haven't found anything worth
going back for I spend about $15.00 plus or minus a buck or two. So that leaves me a question do the really good gardeners not bother with going and
selling their harvest to the clubs. Instead sell it on the black market?
Because it seems like the weed I get is kinda bunk. Looks more like the stuff
from the bottom branches.
