What is needed in a room 10x11 to really make it thump.. Hopefully Filling the whole room? How much light is needed for a quantitative yield?

You have 110 square feet there. quite a large space, you want about 50 watts of light per square foot so your lookin at 5500 watts for decent growth.

unless you close off a smaller portion of your room that will keep all the light in that smaller space...i would use lights that don't give off a lot of heat (I use flourescents) and keep them close to the plants, and use a fan on low...

Heat is always a problems with hids, that is what extractor fans are for.

Heat is not as big an issue with HID's as it was in the past. With cool tubs and air cooled hoods you can get HID's with in 12" now. With AC you can have a sealed room and use CO² to enhance your yield. A sealed room is easer to control odor as well.

if you got the cash, 2 1000watt lights would work very well on a light rail
1 hps and 1 mh, get the full spectrum of light from both.
vented hoods to keep the heat down or what ever cooling system you could afford
