im new to growing anything.... let alone cannabis...lol but so far its been so much fun i think i found my new hobby:thumbsup:
anyways right now my plants just started their 4th week since popping soil.
Seeds are Fem. Nirvana Snow white. Germed in and still in Fafards starter mix. will be transplanting soon into a mix of peat moss, vermiculite, perlite and lime.
they are pretty small for their age...right around 4 inches. i was using 4 26w CFLs(for 5 plants) up until yesterday.... then switched to 600w HPS cooltube, same light cycle-20/4
i have 2 424 cfm 6" inline fans for both intake and exhaust(attached to the light w/ one end open)
am using general hydroponics ph control kit to monitor ph and botanicare pure blend pro grow, bloom, and liquid karma for nutes.
the biggest problem im having is the heat. georgia summers are pretty hot and my grow room stays around 82-86 F.:(
im gonna try and make the best of it though and hope i get some good buds in the end.
PLEASE feel free to post any tips and advice as this is my first grow and im sure im gonna fuck something up, not intentionally of course:D
heres a pic:
will post more of the setup later

how long after transplanting can i expect to see new growth?
i transplanted the plants a couple days ago and havent seen anything new yet.
i figured the plants were getting settled in their new pots and focusing on roots.
is this true? sorry im just kinda impatient lol
its coming to the end of their 4th week and they still are around 6 inches.
i want to flower them so bad but i dont want to regret flipping them too early.
thanks for any help.

Give the poor babies some water... and tell them what pretty little things they are! They need at the least another lunar cycle to get strong and grow enough to give you what you want of them. If you start now letting them know how much you appreciate what they will do for you, they'll do it better... :upsidedow

Uh, yeah. What he means is let them get acclimate a bit before you do anything else. Transplanting can be shocking to them.

ya thats what i thought... lol i thought i might of had a lil ph prob because when i transplanted them i used straight up tap water and leaves were starting to yellow a bit. stupid mistake cuz the tap ph is like 8.5 so i flushed them out with some ph adjusted water. hopefully it helped them out a bit.

ok so i just switched the lights to 12/12
did a lil LST'ing before so hopefully the stretching from the reduced light helps with it.
ill be back in a couple weeks with pics for those who are interested:wtf:
lol alot of times i feel like im alone but ive noticed on other threads more ppl come around when theres buds to see;)

ok well i actually started the flowering cycle the following day after i said i did.
i didnt really do soo much LST i just tied back a couple branches of the plant i FIM'd .
The plants have grown about 2-3 inches since i started flowering and they all look pretty good except for one.
shes really hot her leaves are curling up all over. i went and got some dry ice and put it in cups of water cuz i read that co2 helps plants cope better with heat stress.
i just hope i dont find any balls on them:wtf:
anyways ill get to the pics:thumbsup:

Hey man I think you're doing the right things here. Don't get discouraged if not a lot of people comment early on, you got 186 views in less than 2 weeks so not bad ;)
Next time think about running the light at night (if you're not already), helps with the temps
I'll be watching

ya i am lol
the temps have started to go down actually. theyre on from 12 am to 12 pm and i went in there before the lights went off (which is usually the hottest because the length of time theyve been on) and it was 82 degrees:D
still not ideal but better than 86/87

well today was an eventful day
found a couple of praying mantis outside and brought them in the growroom for some all natural pest control. i have an ongoing battle with little beetles and crickets.
not sure if they eat them so if anyone knows that they dont let me know so i can release them back into the wild lol:jointsmile:
onto my problems...
this really isnt anything related to my grow log but im having MAJOR problems with wolf spiders.
they are freaking the old lady out somethin serious. anybody know a remedy to get rid of those little fuckers?
i found one outside my back door and she had a shit load of babies on her back. i soaked them all in lysol cleaner and stomped out the mom.
then i come inside and see one of the cats is in "hunt mode" so i look and see what hes tryna creep up on and it was ANOTHER big ass wolf spider with another shit load of babies on her back. mind you they were right next to my bed!!!! my girls scared shitless to go to sleep tonight.
of course i stomped them out but does anybody know what i can do to keep them at bay? as in out and away from my house?
i tried spider spray and all that crap and nothing seems to work.
and to top it all off im having a problem with the plumbing. i think a pipes clogged or something cuz when the upstairs shower is on the downstairs toilet and bathtub overflow with dirty ass water.
its not shit water so i dont think the septic tank is backing up.
aaahhhhh so many problems and so little know how.....FML:(

yea i know but theres absolutely no way i can fix that at the moment. cant afford a portable a/c so im hoping now that summers over the temps will start cooling down. the average temp has already gone down a few degrees(from 87 to 82) which im thankful for. only thing i can do is give it more time and hope it cools down a little more.

anybody else?
i have another problem id like to get advice about./ i get this white powdery film on top of the soil and the drain holes in the grow bags i have i can see it too. seems like everywhere thats exposed to open air gets it. is it salt buildup? someone told me that could be the cause and i flushed but its still there. ill take pictures when the lights come on. i havent really noticed it effecting the plants in a negative way but it just doesnt seem normal.

Even at 87* that kind of curling isn't right,... My outdoor plant has been exposed to temps over 100* and the leaves never looked like that!
Something else is going on,.... plants will do weird things if PH is off, or if they're treated with hormones to increase growth.
It's hard to diagnose issues without ALL the info,....
So here,... Copy and paste the first post of this link into this thread, answer all questions honestly.

the ph of the water and soil are ideal. but do you think it could hapen from over watering? when i transplanted i u str8 tap to moisten the soil and figured id let it dry before watering with ph'd water. but they started looking grim so i flushed with ph'd water. now the soil is drying out alot better and this white film is getting on my nerves. im now starting to think this white powdery shit might be causing the leaves to act this way **note not all palnts are doing this, just that one

The lime build-up I was referring to was from your water source. Hard water has a lot of lime in it, so if you spilled some water and let it evaporate, you'd see this white residue left behind. I'm no water expert, but with a starting ph of 8.0, it could be all the lime making it that high, or then something else. Anyways I don't think you'll have a problem, I had white residue on my soil before (from hard water).

i dont think thats it. ive spilled the water on hardwood floors and shit and never saw a white residue, but if that is the case and the water has a lot of lime in it than what does that mean as far as the plant?? like are they gonna die?:what:

But I would think about transplanting into 5 gals if you already didn't, just to get some fresh ph balanced soil in there.

It could be salt build up from the nutes. I'm not sure if salt build up on the roots could be a problem. Are you feeding every watering?

i put them in their current pots about 3 1/2 weeks ago, wasnt planning on transplanting again til about halfway through flower. i dont think i put enough perlite in the soil cuz when it dries it gets hard like clay and the water doesnt penetrate it like i would want it too.... the plants are only a little over a foot tall in the 3 gal bags. i contemplated whether or not i wanted to finish in these bags but i dont want the lime to wear out and give me ph problems right near the end... i hate these bags cuz i cant just pop em off to take a look at the roots. next time im deff. usin pots lol

i feed them every other watering, which is about once a week. non feeding days just water and molassas.
IMO they look pretty good for 12 days in. all have pistils shooting out of everywhere except that one runt. im thinking bout just chopping her but then again ive heard so many stories of the runts turning out to be the best yeilder. just wish i knew what was causing the leaves to curl. theyve been doing that since they were seedlings thou so idk.
