I don't live in NYC and did not lose any family on 9/11, so my opinion means nothing :jointsmile: but . . . from what I understand there was a mosque just down the street from the WTC that was destroyed or badly damaged by the terrorists on 9/11.

WE were attacked by an enemy who's religious beliefs
dictated there motives to kill. They attacked our way of life.

On 911 I was woken up by a phone call after the first tower was hit, saw the second, knew people who died, knew people who had just left meetings in the towers, knew steelworkers who became sick. I saw the sky filling with smoke from a hilltop on N4th Street, twisted up blunts and smoked them with complete strangers on the corner, had police roll by and decide not to fuck with us for obviously having multiple blunts lit with the backdrop of burning and crumbling towers in the background and the billows of smoke filling the air. I had to explain to a child, age 5 at the time, why someone would do something like that to us while he also watched the billows of smoke filling the air. Was a pretty fucked up day all in all, not to mention, we couldn't get in touch with anyone who we were worried about because the phone lines in NYC were fucked, thank Jah for Howard Stern who was the only radio that was able to transmit from inside nyc and let us know what was going on.....

After experiencing that day and days and weeks to follow.... I see no reason why a Islamic community center containing a mosque shouldn't be located a couple blocks away. Hell they have Churches in Afraka and the Caribbean (see: Slavery and Christianity's part in it). For a country that preaches Freedom and Liberty, to directly violate the 1st amendment and to pretend it is anything except prejudice and hate on their part, is ridiculous and transparent. All the racists and bigots wicked hearts that are standing against it, I hope they blow a blood vessel in their brain when the community center is built.

Hey, know anything about the " Widows of 911 " ...I saw their struggles on
documentary and discovered how they got few answers, alot of bullcookies,
downright lies and more cover-ups.
My conclusion of their struggles was, piety. I felt sick watching the conclusion
of their documentary to see the what had happened to them for excersizing
their " freedom & liberty " They said basically they were stonewalled, lied to,
threatened and no longer will ever trust their government.
