ummm. 14W light, i'm guessing it has somewhere around 1,000 lumens. Not enough for a cannabis plant. Sure a seed might srout under that light, but you're not going to see much growth besides the poor plant stretching trying to find light.

To grow good cannabis the minimum Lumens/sq. foot should be above 3,500lumens/sq ft.

You should look into a dedicated t5 grow system. that light is more for side lighting, not to be used as a main light.

happy growing

Ya that light is mainly used for seedlings or cloning. Not the full cycle.

It's a start but you'll need more to flower. If you want to actually see some fruits of your time and labor, aim for 5000+ lumens per square foot. We're not using 250w+ (400w for me, and still considered a small scale grow) because we want to waste electricity, it's because we want to grow some good bud.

Check out some grow logs and you'll see what different people are using. Anything less than about 100w in CFLs per flowering plant won't work very well. Even better is if you double that.

Now you're talking :D

Just to add to the misery, you'd be better off getting 5 x 26w CFL's than just one 125w. The reason is because the light from a CFL is pretty weak, and needs to be close to the plant to have an effect. With several lights you can position them around the plant to get maximum penetration. With just one light, the top of the plant will grow well but the bottom won't.

I'd really look into a 250w HPS, you'll be glad you did. CFL's are OK, but plants grow very slowly under them compared to an HPS. Might be able to find some good deals on craigslist, ebay or even local auctions and thrift stores.

And don't just buy something on impulse. Research it. See if anyone else has grown with it. If not, it probably won't grow anything for you. HPS (250w and up) is tried and tested many times. So are CFLs, but only in the right quantity.

You need to invest bro. cheaping out is not the best way to learn and just hope one of the CFL don't pop on your buds, or can can say goodbye to them. IMO

If you grow the plants in a traditional Christmas tree style, then all around, top to middle.
