So it's been a while since my last grow setup and I've had something in the works for a bit. This time around I'll be doing some things different (little):

Veg

Quantum Bad Boys T5HO 6 Lamp @ 6700k
Canna Coco medium
Canna Coco A + B nutrients
Canna Rhizotonic
Botanicare Sweet Raw

Flower

400w HPS w/ Hortilux EYE
Canna Coco A + B
Canna Rhizotonic, PK 13/14
Botanicare Sweet Raw
Using a flood tray, BUT doing top feed -> drain -> waste

And this time around I got a TDS meter and pH meter.

those are nice nice looking ladies! I use T5s for veg and was wondering what height you have them from seedlings, clones and small plants? My seedlings seemed to stretch for the light from the get-go and i've been slowly decreasing the distance from 2ft on down.

@shibbysurfrider - I'm pretty new to vegging with T5's so I pretty much have them under 2 feet. Maybe... 1.5 feet~ we'll see how it plays out :)

Really nice start there. It should we a good one

I use a 4', 4 lamp T5ho for the complete grow. I use it alone for the little seedlings and keep it down really low, within 6 inches or so. I also use it vertically for supplimental lighting. I used to swap to warm white 3000k in bloom but now and the last grow I just leave the 5000k Daylight spectrum all grow. I also run 400w MH and HPS. I swap to HPS in bloom and have been experimenting with using a neutral Sunmaster MH grow lamp for a couple of weeks toward the end of the bloom cycle. I'll do that again this time too.

Clones are known females, and are already sexually mature, so technically you can start flowering as soon as they have roots. However it will not be as good of yield as veging for a month or so.

Growing from seed will yield more overall for the same size plant from what I've heard, but you do have to sex the plants and weed out males.

Starting to see little female pre-flowers popping up :D

On another note, these Quantum T5 Bad Boys are pretty slick. Lots of growth compared to my last grow where I used CFLs + 150w MH.

Switched to flower

Man they are really packed in there! The Quantum Bad Boys really made them veg fast! Hope height isn't going to be an issue =/.

Not sure if this 400w HPS can punch through the canopy either.

This is going to be fun :stoned:.

Got a new reflector to spread the light a bit better- anyone know if a 400w HPS is enough for 7 plants? Should I upgrade to a 600w?

Looking very nice my friend. Are you just using that 400W to flower? Or did you pick up something bigger?

Ended up using the 400HPS from last grow with a larger reflector. For my next grow I think I want to go with 3x 400w or 2x 600w. What do you think? More spread or more punch?

If your going to go 1200w any way you look at it, take the punch of the 600.

It'll get deeper into the canopy and give you even bigger tighter colas than the 3 400's. Or so I've heard anyway.

What did you use to take that macro shot of your trichs? That's freakin awesome bro!!!!

Thanks for the compliments guys. I used a Canon 100mm Macro Lens f/2.8, took the picture then cropped it.

The only thing that appeals to me about going 3x 400w is I can use one as a MH. Though I guess I could go 2 600w with 1 hps and 1 mh. Not sure how well I'd get coverage.

If you are adding more light I would go the 600w route. But no need to ditch the 400, just add 1 or 2 600w and see how you get on.

Your ladies are still looking good m8. Should be a nice harvest.

Have you got yourself a veg room yet so you don't have to wait so long between harvests?

wow great stuff, Im just about to put together a veg box and ive been going back and fourth on wether i should use a 400 mh or some sort of T5 fluorescent...seeing your girls makes me more confident w/ the T5...ive also thought about switching from soil less to coco as well....have you ever tried a soil less mix?(sunshine #4)

wow nice. And I appreciate the photography. Well done.

One comment - move your thermometer so that it is not in direct light. Best position is in the shade just below the canopy.

@phat - not yet, working on that as we speak :)

@steezyd - i was skeptical with the T5HO's at first too but they seem to work great! to answer your question i've only used coco.

@bigsby - thanks! i got some new camera gear i cant wait to test out for my next grow. and thanks for the heads up, ill move that thermometer

@weeddaddy50 - thanks!
