Good Morning Everyone!!! im totally Brand New here... just signed up a minute ago :) i would love to know IF i have to go thru my Primary Care Physician to get a Medical Marijuana Card in San Diego, California??? i get Chronic Migraine Headaches and also suffer from Anxiety and i would LOVE to NOT take PILLS... ughhhhhh!!! ANY ADVICE???

No, you don't. However, I must say that it is a good idea if you have never tried marijuana so that your doctor can assess risk vs. gain while taking into account your medical history. The downfall is that many doctors will drop you as a patient if they know that you are using marijuana. I guess it could be a mixed blessing though since you could then find a pcp that is cool with MMJ. Hope this helps you!:rasta:

i wouldn't tell! if he makes note of it and your insurance company finds out, they'll probably drop you. i just applied for individual insurance, and one of the questions was about drugs. they include the ganga with the bad stuff, it's all the same to them.

i strongly advise against it.

Flakey's right, don't tell ur PCP, ur ins., carrier will drop u, especially if u have MediCal or MediCare (Gov't., subbed ins.), the beurocrats do not like weed...:thumbsup:

Because Im on so many meds, pills. My pcp tested me for street drugs. I came up dirty for pot. She quit giving me my scripts and now I cant smoke either. I have to wait till I pee clean and then I can get my meds again. Dont ask dont tell. They dont like MMJ...Bitch of a dr:wtf:

I know you have been seeing this doc a while, I assume that anyways. You should have repour with her, and she should have the education to assist you, not the furthering of your symptoms and LACK OF RELIEF! Find another Doctor! Even if it takes a while. Do your research! Find one before you drop one!
