This is my first grow! I have put my babies into flower this week! There are only two, out of the 6 I started with! Two were only Females! The seeds came from my father, who grew because of cancer! I grow for fun and pleasure! He got seeds from net! I have seen his finished harvest! These were nice dense, PURPLE buds about the size of banana's! I could only hope! I am using CFL. My father used 400 watt HPS! Father grew Hydroponics! I am using soil! Please, all I am looking for at this point, is opinion of how it looks! If you guys need more pics, let me know! Thanks in advance! Thanks for opportunity to use forum as well!

Well, funny story! I did not plan this grow, just happened! I started some seedlings, and could NOT get any thing to grow! I did this about 3 times! I finally gave up and told my girlfriend to empty the pots for a bowl for dog water! She did alright! Right in front of my storage shed! Needless to say, a month later I was cutting the grass, and seen 6 of these plants growing, and was about to run them over till I saw the leaves! SCORE!!! So I dug them up, re potted them in Miracal Grow Garden soil(All I had on hand)! As for nutes! I am using this Mix that has 24%(nitrogen), 8%(Phosphorus), 16%(Potash) when I water! Only add nutes every other water tho! I forgot to add, I started to flower after the nodes started to stagger! This was also when the hight reached about 15 inches for one, and 18 on the other! If I produce smokable smoke, I will be satisfied! Yield isn't really an issue! This is just a grow for learning and getting familiar with the process! Once comfortable! I will really apply myself in it, and hopefully have something to brag about!

For a first grow and using cfl's they look good. Keep it up. May want to consult your local hydro store about some different neuts. The one your using has way too much nitrogen. Again looking good though:rasta:

Well this morning I have seen change! I am not for sure if it's good or bad! Please let me know! I'm looking at the hairs on the top bud of one of them! They are already turning pinkish red. I am only on day 10 of flower! Is this normal? I do believe these are blue berry, from what dad said! Here are a few pics from this morning, showing you what I am seeing!

All looks fine

I agree with the too much N like others said, probably why the leaves look so dark green.

Fox Farm 3-part seems to be a popular nutrient over there. Check out their online feeding schedule before using. Just don't over-do it, it's strong stuff. I think the dosages are listed for each week, not each watering.

Happy growing

pinkish red pistals are part of some strains, but if you burn them they are dead pistals. keep an eye on your pH. you want 6.5 in soil.

fox farms chart is misleading...suposed to feed every other watering but it could look like once a week. just putin that out there, not trying to argue:thumbsup:

Just an update for week 2(14 days into flower)! Slight change in lighting tho! During the day, I have been putting them on my back porch for the REAL sun to feed! I believe this is making a difference! Then when sun can no longer reach plants, I will bring indoor and put under CFL set up I have! I have not been watering as frequent. I think I may have over watered for a short bit of time! I have not had time to get proper nutes, due to the fact, I will have to drive 70 miles! So I will in near future here! I just figure for now, since I have them in Miricle Grow soil. The nute should hold me off till I obtain the proper ones! So I have not feed them my nutes I have on hand! The dark green is starting to subside! Thanks guys for the heads up! Here is just a pic as of right now, showing the vast amounts of hairs producing!

Be careful! Putting them outside for the day invites pests into your grow room! Plus moving them from place to place will stress them! You also risk damaging your plants! Just keep them in one place! They will be happier and you will not have to run them around the house!

Dually noted, and advice taken!!! I went to just make sure sun was NOT BURNING LEAVES AGAIN! Noticed a caterpillar(Very tiny, white body with black head) was crawling on a leave! Removed and brought back into house after thorough investigation! From this point on the only sun these plants will see, will be through a window! If even that, seeing I have (I believe, sufficient lighting) They may never see the sun again!
I would just like to say, you guys are great! Every thing posted to me is valid, and is helping me with this grow, enabling it to be successful! THANKS

Rickybudz Looks good so far. I use botanicare pro bloom, liquid karma, bud candy, and black strap malassis for neauts during flowering with great results. I think you should get yourself a mini microscope in the 60x power range from like radio shack so you can see you trichs. You will need this to know when to harvest. You cant tell by looking with the naked eye when they are ready. Hope this helps. Good job so far keep it up :rasta:

These things are like literally like weeds! I keep finding new bud sites everyday! One plant as of now has 29, the other 31! This is middle of second week of flower! I am seeing seeing trichs appearing everywhere  Will these continue to keep producing more bud sites, or will the bud sites just start to fill in? I'm posting a pic to show trich's, but camera just wont focus right(IPhone):(

I am very pleased with this sites feedback, and will continue here with my results concerning my grow journey!

Thanks for magnify glass details! I really wasn't sure of the strength I should be using! Very helpful!

One last question! Now that these little girls are starting smell! Quite a bit actually!!! Is there a link to something that can help me with fabricating my own air scrubber, or something to help with odor? This would be very helpful for me! (Limited Funds) Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions.

P.S. I will be shopping for nutes in next day or two!

looking good:thumbsup:. they are growing like weeds...lots of progress. cant tell you alot about an air scrubber but i know there is a product called Ozium. its an air sanatizer and deodorizer. works good around the house but you dont wana spray it in your grow room....also some gel automotive air freshners in the air vents around you house help...just nothing to strong or you will hate it. both of these can be found at any automotive store or even walmart or target or whatever.

Unless your Iphone has 60+ magnification you will not see a triche. You will need a 60x mini microscope to see them. You can't see them with the naked eye. Even with the mini microscope it takes some practice to be able to be still enough to see them. They look kinda like a mushroom but will be clear. :rasta:

Hey Rickybudz, your girls are looking great.

Now, I'm just an uber noob here, I just started my first grow a week ago but something you wrote caught my attention, you mentioned getting light through a window.

This point is probably moot now, you plants look nice, but none the less its useful information for the future. Most windows in houses now days are UV treated. Different glass, window types, coatings and what-not all make differences. A typical, newer style, double-pane window has energy star crap built into it thats great for your heating and cooling expense but bad for good lighting. Light gets through but not the good stuff ya need from it.

A lot of prescription glasses that have transitional lenses (auto-darken when in bright places) wont darken at all if inside a car or behind an double pane window, some might darken a bit, depending on the glass, but not much.

The only reason I know is because my damn $350 glasses don't get dark while I'm driving on a sunny day. I have to hold them under sun that doesn't pass through a window first then stick em on if I want em shaded. And, they don't hardly darken when I'm at home cause of our energy efficent windows.

Once again, you're doing great with those for a first grow like me, but this might help someone later...

Thank You for the useful information. I see you educated a fellow reader as well! I have pretty much realized the best light for these girls are the CFL bulbs 1-3 inches from plants! I have noticed MORE growth where the lights are closest! So now I rotate lights from day to day, which seems to work fine! Once again, proving to me. More lights, More growth! I have still only 12 lights, but will get more next trip to store! I have started 7 new babies, in hope to work out problems I had this time! (That's for a different thread for the future) So more lights for veg. will be required soon! Thanks:jointsmile: guys for your positive feedback!

Day 34 of Flower! Lookin OK. Buds have hit a growth spurt. I have now referred to them as Beauty and the Beast! One looks pretty, and the other is just ugly! Here are updated pics from today! Just a few more hairs turning color. Question tho...Does the hair color mean strain type, or potency, or is color a reflection of health? Example, orange, red, or brown hair color!

Well Day 40 in to flower! Not really a big difference in size for the cola! Now the the lower buds are really growing quite a bit! I took 1 pic, then the batteries died. I will post that pic. Then more later on. The cola really isn't getting fatter, but the buds on the stem are catching up to the higher buds. Making the cola appear to be longer! The hairs are really turning color all over, still a lot of white tho. I would of thought more growth by now(5 1/2 weeks into flower)! They have only gotten 4 inches taller! Will there be some type of growth spurt here soon? I have about 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 weeks left till harvest. Thanks guys, here's the pic...
P.S. The trichs have really come along nice. This pic does not do justice in showing you that. It really kinda looks like the plant has been misted with water in the sun light!

If growth you mean fatter buds then yes. If you mean growth like height and branch growth then probably not much anymore unless its a late stretcher.

Most plants ive dealt with are done growing vertically by week 5 of flower. All strains are different though.

They look great and your idea of moving the bulbs around every other day is really going to help in the end. Using CFLs as your main lighting source can add about a week to the recomended flowering length... something to keep in mind.

I can't get pic to show you, no matter how hard I try! I was checking the color of the trichs! Both plants have milky trich now! About 80 - 90% milky! No amber colored trich's anywhere! I actually seen this last night. My dog started having puppies, so I totally forgot about the trich color, and the plants all together! I sure hope this doesn't mean harvest is soon. I sure would like bigger buds. I did not want to harvest for at least a 2 - 3 weeks! How long do I have? (If that question can be answered) Will I have the time for 2 - 3 weeks more before harvest? Now I am starting to get unsure of what to do. I have a pic of the trich's at various (stages from the net). My trich's are all like the second pic of the four! Please give me some feed back. I am very confused at this point! Thanks guys.

How many weeks does your strain say? The trichs can be tricky when you are first learning to read them. 6weeks is not long enough... Be patient. They will get really milky in color when ready and not just a tad bit cloudy.

This is the hardest part of growing. They are getting close, they look yummy, and you want any excuse to chop. Be strong!

The strain calls for 8-9 weeks of flower! I am curious, but yet at the same time! I have a bag of goodies already. I want this done right, so I WILL NOT harvest early. I am at 6 weeks today! I want to go at least 8-9 like they say! I would like the optimal high that these plants can produce, not yield. I figure when I get the buzz right, then I can worry about yield with future grows! I will defiantly use this forum for any advise needed! You guys have steered me in the right direction thus far! I will keep checking them to see when they get cloudier! Cloudier with a peppered bit of amber is what I believe I am looking for. This is the general census on what I have read, for the type of buzz I am looking for! I will keep an eye out on this thread for any advise you guys give! Thanks

Day 46 of flower!
Very happy with 1 plant, and very disappointed with other! The ugly one turned hermie!!! I only have a limited supply of lights! So I had to make a decision. What to do. I didn't want to have them together anymore, but didn't have extra lighting to set up some where else! This posed as a problem. What to do. Take outside to the caterpillars and whiteflys, or harvest it at 6 weeks. Needless to say. I'm trying the outside for now. If I see a pest problem acure. He/She will be hanging in my closet.

Now on to the other wonderful girl. She is doing very well. In this last week, she has fattened up considerably. The buds on stalk have fattened up past walnut size. the cola is 3 iches wide in fattest part, 6 inches long:D I had a slight nute burn in one fan leave. I flushed and stopped feeding. She is done with nutes now! She has a very nice color to her. The trichs are definalty all cloudy now and very abundent.! The hairs, I would say are at about 70%. They have took on a BRIGHT red. This looks very x-mas like with the red and green. It will be a present when done. Thats for sure.:D

I have added a photo of a lady bug that has been with my plant from the start. It posses as no problem so far. I have read they are great for feasting on mites and white flys. Maybe I will transfer it to the babies when these get harvested!

I also added a pic of my 1 week old babies! Enjoy

Watch out with that hermie. If it has active pollen sacks then that shit can stick on your clothes or whatever and make its way inside with you. Hate to see your other plany get pollenated this closeto the end. Otherwise its a rockin grow man!! I love this stuf! Looks like fome funk. How many lights did yo end up with? Gotta get a 100x scope tho verry important!!
