hey guys i'm trying to buy my first vap and i need some help choosing one. my price range is <200 bucks and i have some other requirements:
-unit doesn't heat up on the outside and become a fire hazard
-hands-free whip
-convection heating method, ideally with ceramic/quartz heat source
-adjustable temperature, ideally with a digital display
any suggestions?

Best hands free whip based vapes under 200 bucks is Da Buddha or the VaporBros.
Stay far away from digital displays within this price range as they are notorious for being inaccurate and eventually failing.

The VaporBros is a good vape, but quoting advertising copy is totally useless because that's what it is............advertising copy. Means diddly squat. I could post up Da Buddha's advertising copy too, but that would be a total waste of bandwidth as well.
Advertising copy is designed to do one thing, and that is to sell their vape and they will spin whatever they have to spin to accomplish that goal. Same things can be said for just about all products that are advertised to be sold. So...........don't believe any of that crap. Best thing to do is to read user reviews and leave the advertising copy to those that will fall for that crap.

They're both great vapes. It's just that bringing up ad copy to support any particular product doesn't really hold much weight. No big deal though.
But to anyone considering any vape, rather than reading ad copy from any manufacturer, it would be MUCH better to read user reviews instead.
It's all good, Vaped.
