Stupid Problem Id like to share

So i have a microbiology class 5:30-8:30 monday and wednesday nights with this really crazy prof, who spends the entire class picking on students and telling students stories about himself instead of teaching us anything related to micro. (The class is really easy.) Anyway, last night at 5:30 the prof wasnt there, so the entire class waited for him. finally it was 5:50 and he still wasnt in the classroom, although when I asked someone where he was he said hes grading papers in his office. Anyway, me and two other people said fuck it, and we left. But the rest of the class stayed, and he probably eventually did come and taught class as usual. Should I have stayed or left? It just really makes me mad because if he was just going to stay in his ofice that long he could have told the class beforehand that he was going to be late, and to wait for him. But he didnt and all I was thinking was I could have extended my nap for another 20 minutes that afternoon. The thing is, he does teach us for about 15 minutes, and I'll need to get those notes. But if I was a student who did stay I wouldnt give my notes to anybody who left because I had to suffer through the lecture. So what do I do?

its not really a stupid problem.....i probly would of left...or done some work if i had any to do....why dont you go and see the professor and ask him for some notes?

Well hes probably really pissed off at me because there are only like 20 people in the class total, and knowing him he asked the class where I was along with the two other people, and the teacher's pet is going to say we left because he wasnt showing up.

well......this is completly my opion (which isnt very much) but i thinkn you are likly to get less bollocked if you go and see him before your next class.....because it will show you are interested in the class....and he wont be able to use the excuse "you should of come and see me before today so you can catch up" or somthing like that.....and if he's a shouter....he is most probly less likly to shout at you if you go and see him privatly.....

If your class is scheduled to start and he doesnt arrive until after 20 minutes then he cant really give you shit about not being there, at least you were there in time for the class...

I would have left too, i mean if I can afford missing 15 minutes of something you can borrow from a fellow classmate the next day then hell yeah, fuck that shit, im going back to bed.

so what your saying is you dont even know what happened, and your being a pussy because you think people wont give you the notes. The teacher isnt gonna care if your like I showed up but you didnt so i wasnt sure if you were planning on coming and i had some things i had to do. Whats more important getting the missed work, or being afraid hes gonna be mad at you.

If its such an easy class then why do you need the notes so bad? It was actually a pretty funny thing that happened to me last week that this reminds me of. I had just gotten to my Microeconomics class and was pretty stoned, so i was just chillin. The professor didn't show up after like almost 15 minutes, so probably like half of the class got up and left, normally i wouldve too but i was stoned and actually pretty comfortable. Then like 10 seconds after all the people left, they all walked back in with the professor right behind them! But the professor was cool and he didn't even really give a fuck

I give professors 15 minutes after class is scheduled to begin to show up. If they don't, I leave witha clear conscience. If they can't show up on time, they don't deserve my attention.

If i ever turned up late to lectures we are told to leave even if its only 5 minutes late, he is paid and employed to educate you thouroughly. If this course was full time then 20minutes late is neither here nor there, but by the fact you do 6 hours per week, your study time is extremely important.

If you get any shit from him, just be nice then inform headteacher, principal of the situation. Don't worry about it bruv!

whwre i study, if the teacher isnt there after 15mn after the course began, we can leave. so just say to him your a fuckin cocky teacher learn how to teach :mad:
